Standard and POE2

They're still working out those kind of details. We don't know yet, because they don't know yet.

What??? lol. All the opposite. PoE 1 (10 acts campaign we currently play) and PoE 2 (7 acts campaign we will be able to play when 4.0.0 is released late next year) will connect on the end game. So they will all be together.

Poe 1 and Poe 2 are still the same game, just two campaigns.

Are you sure about that? I did understand that the loot will be different and therefore it would make sense to have them in different leagues. Like SSF SC and SC will never meet each other and still have the same endgame. (If there is no way to migrate from one league to another).

The specific did say that they want to integrate something in PoE(1) for years, but that would break anything, therefore they are doing it in PoE2. It would still break PoE(1) if you could just insert it there.

Sure you could do a lot if two different talent trees, but I really doubt that they will try to make the new gems work with the old talent. Than there wouldn't be an need to separate it in the first place.
they said theyre not separating it. the loot will change for the entire game, there isnt going to be any league where the old loot still exists. they specifically said theyre converting all standard league items to the new socket systems and converting all existing fusing to jewellers.
I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

You will not lose anything. All your items, your mtx, your old chars, everything will transfer to the new poe game. Poe2 is only an alternate campaign to level in. Poe1 will still get any and all new mechanics, the new graphic changes, new uniques, new items, new endgame etc.

Now, some stuff will go away by virtue of being useless in the game (such as fusing orbs) and they will work out how to remove them from standard players.

sometimes, like bestiary and synthesis, it doesn't exist at all for a while
So I could mirror a linker and somehow the "remove all fusing from the game" algorithm might miss it.

It could be a delicate extinct flying insect, preserved as a carbonized film upon the surface of a split rock.

A cautionary tale, not only of the economic folly of buying prophecies, digging to primordial cities, or shoveling cartloads of linkers onto your items.

Also, a cautionary tale about letting crunkatog near a currency tab after 3am and/or 2 beers. "wossis shiny? wot happen if I rubbit on this other shiny bit?"
