A question about metacrafting

Lets say i have a rare item with a prefix and a suffix i want to keep. (somehow i got very lucky with annulments :) ) can i do the following: craft can have multiple crafted mods on it, then prefixes cannot be changed, then suffixes cannot be changed, then use a resonator with fossils on it? im hoping the result will keep the 2 mods i started with, is that so? and, will the resonator add just one mod or 4?

meta mods dont work with fossils nor essences. the item would be rerolled entirely
