"Blight suxx drops are shit dead game."
Is it really though? I thought I'd put my RNG to the test and record my drops over 50 T15/16 blights. I'm hoping to see some data from streamers like the "1000 glaciers" posts from Legion but haven't seen much yet. This data is ONLY from the blight league mechanic, and exclusively from T15/16 maps (alch, vaal, and go, no sextants, random zana maps included in sample, no quant, includes both nodes and lootsplosion.) The way most players who reach T16 maps and run guardians play.
All currency conversions were done based on spot sell price. No unrealistic exaggerations were made in the pricing of any loot drops, as all items have already sold except elder Gripped Gloves priced at 1ex. If this price is wrong and they're just a "rare but worthless item" subtract 185c from my returns below. I don't feel that my drops were exceptional, but this was the only set of maps where I actually recorded everything so I can't officially compare it to anything.
Summary:
939 chaos (18.8 chaos/event) including uncommon drops
403 chaos (8.1 chaos/event) if you brick and drop absolutely nothing impressive
3 Teal, 2 Azure, 3 Violet, 2 Crimson, 2 Black, 0 Opal/Silver/Gold drops
Total regular map drops: 1 T16, 1 T13, 1 T12, NADA other than that!
Notable drops: 594c
Two blighted maps: Cage T2, Defiled Cathedral T14
1 raw ex
ilvl83 elder Gripped Gloves
Shavronne's Wrappings
Tabula
Junk 6L unique
Generic Currency and regular map drops: 250c
Includes all currency that you'd actually bother picking up (nothing below alch/scour/regret level), 6 socket items, and sacrifice fragment drops. Includes 22 Stacked Decks. At 88c they made up about a third of all currency drops.
Quick sell items/oils: 95c
Includes the random stuff that drops that actually moves and moves quickly. Twice Enchanted and other prophecies, splinters, oils Teal+, div cards, fossils over 1c, scarabs (polished bestiary was my only really good one.)
Conclusion:
A blight encounter in a map always takes over 30 seconds to complete even if you start it right away. At 18.8 chaos/map and 1 minute per encounter you land at a rate over 1,100 chaos/hour solely for the league mechanic (480c if you brick all uncommon drops.) For the vast majority of people it will be worth your time to stop what you're doing in the middle of a map and do the blight mechanic at that level of return. For the super elite chaining juiced T16s with sextants and quant prophecies in 45 seconds it won't be worth stopping.
I think they have the average return tuned just about right in maps. The value of the league mechanic itself pops out loot that is comparable to what Legion dropped in T16s in my opinion, only you can't insta-pop and end the encounter like in Legion.
I would've liked to have seen them do more with oils. The fact that high tier oils barely drop at all yet are still relatively useless and worthless says a lot. Maybe add an Icky Oil at about the rarity of Teal that you could use 3 of to Blight the map of your choosing. Dropping 2 Blighted maps in 50 is reasonable in my eyes, but understandably feels like crap to many players.

my thoughts are
i play SSF. so i don't have to worry about boiling every aspect of the game to a currency value.
i can rest easy, take my time, play the game at any pace i want, and know for certain that everything is worth my time.
this allows me to experience the game a lot more. instead of skipping this and skipping that because "it isn't worth..." isn't even in my mind. if i want something, especially something specific, i have to do the things that lead to it.
i'd love to get a pair of ilvl 83 elder gripped gloves though

480c to 1,100c per hour seems pretty good even for the elite group. The ceiling with blight is so high I've seen empower 4 and hall of mirrors drop.

What percent of players sustain T15+?
Didn't they come out with something that said 2% kill shaper? Or was that Uber elder?
Don't get me wrong, not saying its that hard - prices are reasonable this league so you can just buy them really.
Just saying, if something is tuned for T15+, then most players won't even experience it.
Ironically, the ones that will are the ones who do maps in 1 minute so its still a bad venture for them.

I've done about five blighted maps. Think the highest one was a T10. I alch'd it and anointed it. I haven't been able to complete any of them. I have plenty of DPS, but something always happens and my generator thing gets pooched within a second. I'm just going to start selling them off.
And the white guys says, I'll have a Coke then.

Ran another 50 maps because I wanted to answer the question "just how long is this taking anyways?" Didn't record loot but I remember that I ended up with 1 T2 and 1 T13 blighted map in the set of 50. Somehow dropped 2 golden and 1 silver oil in the set which was crazy lucky! My league average has been around 1 blighted map per 20-30 encounters.
I started recording the time at the moment I hit the start encounter button, then clicked the fast forward button, and then killed. I hit stop at the second the "fungal growths have been destroyed" message popped. All maps were T16s, chisel, alch, vaal, and go, with a few Zana maps scattered in. I forgot in the OP but I DID chisel every map that I ran in that set as well.
You can definitely clean up faster than me as I play pretty lazily, but since I'm playing minions I feel my speed was pretty good. Bosses die in 3-5 seconds for me so they don't slow it down too much. I'm not sure what determines how long blight encounters last but for whatever reason the encounters seem much faster in groups. Don't know why.
Minimum time in my set of 50 blight encounters: 41 seconds
Maximum time in my set of 50 blight encounter: 93 seconds
Average time to complete the Blight encounter: 61 seconds.

Been runnins t11's blighted nonstop past 3 days.
Map costs 50c, and i usually profit 20-40c per map.
I sell stacked decks, pickup and currency, sell shards fragments and scarabs.
I also sell lab enchants like yesterday sold a purifying flame and scourge arrow helm 1ex each.
Got 3 6link drops sold 1ex each.
From what ive experienced, chiseling and alching is useless. Was matters is getting lucky chests, which you can do cheaply with teal oils. The chests that are lucky are random, but you can tell theyre lucky cause i go from a few horizon shards to fuckin 7 ancient shards on harbinger chests.
I think overall, unless it's easy for you, blighted maps are a wash and boring as shit. But the fact i can just afk my sire of shards ball lightning and watch a movie while i make currency towards HH is nice.
But i would never, NEVER play this league mechanic were it not for my having a build that is ezpz. The tower defense shit is for the birds.
