Laptop uses wrong video card - the 2nd

I would like to supply a possible solution to this thread here: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1614868. It is locked, so I can't post there anymore. But maybe it helps someone else with a similar problem.

None of the solutions offered in the thread did work for me since the whole system runs fine, however POE would not use the 2nd card, which made blight encounters become a slide show. It turned out that (I run a GeForce 940MX) the NVIDIA control panel would show POE in the 3D settings and was set use the NVIDIA card. I had to remove the existing entry from the list and add a new one with the full path to the executable (in my case ...\path of exile\pathofexile_x64.exe). Then set it to use the NVIDIA card and voilà. The game runs in both fullscreen and windowed mode using the 2nd card. It also allows you to choose a second monitor, if connected. It makes the game run much smoother ;).
