game sound is very quiet

hi folks

just started playing blight league couple days ago and noticed that my in game sound for PoE (character dialouge, loot drop sounds, and just in general combat sounds etc..) is very quiet. I turned the master volume all the way up and all the rest of the options as high as they could go and the game sounds still below average. In the past, I had to have the sound tabs set pretty low. thats how loud the game was for me. Now, everything is way too quiet.

any advice on what i can do? as said, i never had this issue prior to 3.8. none of my other games or videos etc have any sound issues. seems just isolated to PoE. thanks

seems the character dialogue has a faint far away sound to it. the in game music seems fine. combat sounds also seems "far away", like i have my speakers further away from me. so ya the sound seems all screwy. this is new since blight league. everything was fine prior to blight

try changing reverb option (disable or enable whatever is opposite to current)
change sound channel count
make sure sound device is correct ingame

Same problem here. Changing reverb and channels didn't fix the problem.

ya ive tried changing reverb from on or off with no change. same with changing count from high to medium. i suppose i could try changing to low and see if it helps but i doubt it.

as for sound device, it is just set to speakers as it has always been. switching to "realtek" just turns the sound off altogether.

This issue seems exclusive only to PoE as every other game i play or video i watch etc sounds fine.

it's so low, I had to set my music player's volume to below 40% (master volume) to hear anything in poe (maxed out). I play while I listen to music from player in the background.
