Incinerate Ignite bonus stacking

Hey guys,

a question about incinerate and how the bonus damage stack with other bonus damage :

Final wave deals 500% more Damage with Ignite
Final wave deals 500% more Damage with Hits

Ignite already stack with damage so does it mean that the two stack together for a ignite damage bonus of 3500% ? That would be the logical way to understand it but it seems really op so I am asking.

In practice if incinerate does 100 base damage, it will do 600 on the final hit with the bonus. The ignite based on this hit will have a value of 600 or do we apply the ignite bonus and it will have a value of 3600 ?

Short answer: No, ignite is scaled by the skills "base" damage, so the hit and the actual ignite multipliers act separately:

Long answer: Say your gem does 100 hit damage, and you have those 2 multipliers, 500% for the hit and 500% for the ignite.

Once you use incinerate, you will hit a mob with a 600 damage hit (I think the multiplier does not work exactly like that, but that is irrelevant now), THEN with that hit, you ignite the enemy. The burn damage this enemy will get from the hit will NOT be based on the hits actual damage, but in the base damage of the skill (which is 100 in this case), basically applying a burn of 600 damage.

This was changed in 3.0 to avoid exactly how you think it works, it was called "double-dipping", with which you could increase the hit damage, the burn damage was calculated from the hit, and then you multiplied it AGAIN for the burn, allowing the damage numbers to be absurd.

So basically, they are separated, and both scale depending on the base damage, hope this helps :)
