FPS counter is the biggest lie in path of exile

Out of all games of all types, poe is the worst:

We all agree 100% turn based games dont need many fps to feel fluid. We can include card games like magic gathering or elder scrolls card games as well as hearthstone.
These kind of games makes you feel it runs smoother with higher fps than it actually does!

Normal games like action, 3d adventure or racing games feel exactly how they are. If they stutter you know and you can adjust. You can tell how much fps you have by gameplay itself.

But by God path of exile is trash. It shows more fps than it feels! Its the opposite. You see fps counter telling you its above 30fps, or above 40fps and you can feel it runs like 10fps game.
Spoiler
My latency is always at ~35.
35,30fps feels like 10fps or a pure slideshow, even though character and mobs run in somewhat fluid motion.

60fps feels like 40fps at best.

I dont know how they did it but the input lag, the online ping makes all this fps a total utter garbage. You cant even complain about this game due to -"snort, sir..you have a lot of fps, dont complain" while in reality its totally inacurate, and hinders gameplay by alot.

Maybe some nerd would word this in more convincing order but who cares about wording, if you understand what I am talking about then its good enough for me!

I dislike rarity so much im almost quitting poe2. GGG.

ok.
OP...turn on a 3rd party tool like RiverTuna or Steam's FPS counter and tell me just how magical PoE's fake counter is...

...because they're going to report similar speeds outside of lockstep frame-drop.
does it help if you switch from lockstep networking mode to predictive?

I never use lockstep mode because it just makes game run much worse.

And that's a cardinal mistake. Also do you have at least 8 core processor?

uh, that's bad.

because the game is supposed to be more fluent in predictive mode cause the client doesn't has to wait for the server response before displaying anything.

if you already run on predictive:
to analyse where you're handicapped i would run gpu-z and the win taskmanager to see if either your gpu or cpu runs on full load when your frames starting to drop

I always though the Jeweler's Strongbox was the biggest lie. Gah how many alchemies have been wasted!?

Wait - I also thought the character page DPS numbers were the biggest lie?

Yes, I think that last one is truth.
This topic makes no sense. Is your computer just totally broken?

The fps counter seems very precise for me. When there are graphical elements failing to display quickly, the counter drops, as it's a rendering rate issue (and dynamic resolution is generally enough to fix it). When I'm playing on lockstep and get intermittent lag (almost always because my wifi adapter and my router don't agree on something--hasn't happened since upgrading my router), the fps counter doesn't and shouldn't drop, because any lag is caused by the game client deciding to not render because it doesn't have enough information to do so. Completely different from the purpose of the fps counter.

But if you're playing on predictive mode...? The fps counter should be... completely, exactly precise. It should drop to 10 if you reach 10.

I think you either don't realize that you've had lockstep on all along or you're not actually paying enough attention to your fps graph.

At least you are not completely idiot like the rest, but.. exactly im right, there is a big issue.

For example I log in to town i have 60fps and I for testing purposes put lockstep.

I feel the input lag or something very clearly. The animations are fluid and smooth but the lag is there.
Same thing with predictive mode in certain blight maps - the 60fps doesnt matter, the lag is there - extreme lag while I hover 30-45ping. And it feels like im playing at 20fps.

Hard to describe, very easy to notice.

Second point:
Also there shouldnt be difference in fps. If I login to town with predictive mode and I hover around 90fps while nobody moves around and with lockstep i hover around 60fps thats just bs.

If ^ is accurate then my statement that game feels like 20fps while it renders graphics smoothly also is correct.

Ofc this is all because its multiplayer game, most likely.
