'An unexpected disconnection occurred' game unplayable since Sunday

I was able to play without any issues on Saturday and Sunday however now every time I log a character in there's a big lag spike every 10 seconds or so and soon enough (usually within a minute) I crash to the login screen with the 'An unexpected disconnection occurred' error. I've never had these sort of issues before and I seem to be able to play any other game just fine.

I've run through the network problems troubleshooting but no change. Issue remains at peak and off-peak times.
