blast waves

The wording on this skill is a little tricky. It says skills used by mines deal x% increased damage blah blah blah. Does this only apply to skills attached to blast chain mine support or all mines (pyroclast, icicle, etc..)?

Only applies to the mine it's linked to.

Reviving this thread from years ago because I have the same exact question and the one reply was a bit too vague for me.

Surprisingly there is no information when searching online on if the Blast Waves passive node works with Stormblast, Pyroclast, or Icicle mines or if it only boosts the damage for Blastchain and High-Impact mine support gems.

I just started a Pyroclast Sabo build and when planning my build using PoB it shows an increase in damage as well as AoE Radius when I take the node but its wording makes it seem like it should only work with Blastchain & High-Impact mine support with spells linked to those.

I've even checked a few top Pyroclast builds on POE Ninja and nobody has taken that node which further adds to my doubt if the Blast Waves passive works for Pyroclast/Stormblast/Icicle Mine skill gems.

While I'm at it can someone please also confirm if the Doom Cast passive will increase the crit chance and damage for Pyroclast Mines as well? I'm pretty sure it does based on mines being spells but I see very few builds on POE Ninja also taking that node. PoB calculates an increase in Crit Chance/Multi so I'm guessing it does...

Without using a skill, mines would be just destroyed on detonation in vain. Stormblast, Pyroclast and Icicle mines have a build-in skill which they use.

If the Blast Waves passive doesn't work with Pyroclast mines but PoB acts like it does needs to be reported and fixed.

This is why I would love another persons confirmation on this and please give a more straight forward answer. Though I appreciate the two responses that confirm Blast Waves passive doesn't work for Stormblast/Icicle/Pyroclast mines the way it's been worded is a little confusing and not conclusive.

Blast Waves works with Pyroclast Mine. I wonder how from "Skills used by Mines deal 30% increased Area Damage if you Detonated a Mine Recently" (stat wording) and "Stormblast, Pyroclast and Icicle mines have a build-in skill which they use" (my reply) you concluded that I was implying the opposite.

threw me off and made it seem like you were pointing out the difference between a Mine Support Gem (blast chain & high-impact) vs Mines that are Active Skill Gems and how "built-in" isn't the same as LINKED. I guess it was a little too vague for me so I appreciate the follow up and how you stated it unequivocally this time.

statement making it seem like you needed High-Impact Mine Support linked to a spell such as Fireball or something. So I was already under the impression that was the case.

I guess I should have trusted PoB if it calculates things that way. It also doesn't help how this game has a lot of weird phrasing to explain mechanics. They simply could have removed the "Skills used by" portion of the node description for Blast Waves and simply left it "Mines deal 30% increased....." and there is no ambiguity there lol.
