I forgot a big one too, Alva was a character from souls, who's league is all about time travel.

In case you aren't familiar with souls, the entire plot is based around time travel and alternate dimensions. It's why you always play in the same place, but it looks completely different.

Dark Souls? I'm not aware of Dark Souls even having a plot, at least not as I understand that word. An incoherent, impenetrable but possibly philosophical discourse maybe, but about one bargepole and several revolutions around the Jovian equator short of what I might consider a 'plot'.

Tbf, I feel the same way about the old Elder Scrolls lore. Stuff like the 36 Lessons of Vivec and other shit dreamed up by that drug-adled madman of a writer they once had.
I just looked up the Alva character from the Souls games and it looks like a random character from II that didn't tie into the serie's convoluted universe rules (that are an afterthought to the main lore anyway).

I think it's more likely that Alva in PoE is named as such because it is an anagram for Vaal.

Dude, Alva, the Wayfarer. Alva, the Explorer. They even worded it the same way.

Edit: And look like identical to opposite sex versions.

But anyways I was just lying down about to sleep thinking about how great Demon's Souls to Dark Souls 2s story was, and I just remembered the biggest fucking one I don't know how I missed.

The place they're exiled to in both games is the land of the gods. Where some people worship them, but they turn out to be evil.

And also stop judging Souls's story, it doesn't make sense to you because it wasn't supposed to. It takes 1,000's of hours of figuring out all little pieces to understand it. I'm pretty sure I dumped around 1,000 just into the pendant hunt.
Need a new signature, cuz name change. I dunno though. I guess this seems fine. Yeah, this is good.

when the PoE standard got released, some guys in a garage in auckland suddenly realised that online games are basically the same as "power over ethernet" pathed by wires and just added something with exiles cause that's the main feeling if you grew up on a very small and always clowded island.
