So, MINES get better access to leech than spells now? Is this a joke?
" Glad you found it entertaining, but sorry you put your foot in your mouth. Which unique items are you referring to? Doryani's sceptre and belt I assume? Which are a huge opportunity cost to use and only give 0.2% leech? Gloomfang --> only chaos damage and if your build doesn't chain it is a total dogshit unique. Thirst for horrors? Don't make me laugh, hexproof laughs at you and it has short range, not to mention it's a shit item in general. There is a reason nobody uses it. Berek's ring? Have fun shocking bosses unless you're elementalist, but I concede that ring is pretty much one of the only options I would consider decent. Shaper amulets? Sure, that's fine, but is that really supposed to be the only place a spell can get leech? What if you need a unique amulet for the build you want to use? Unless you claim there are no build-defining unique amulets, which would be stupid to claim. Also a shaper amulet with leech and even 1-2 other decent stats are pretty expensive. When you refer to flasks, you mean atziri's promise? Lol, good luck sustaining that in long fights unless you're PF, and good luck getting substantial leech out of it anyway unless a large fraction of your damage is chaos damage. I didn't think I needed to spell out (no pun intended) why all these things are not used, or if they are, that they come with SEVERE penalties or times where they simply don't work. But hey, not everyone is informed, and I'll try not to hold that against you despite your aggressive attitude. Edit; and just to be clear, this thread isn't really even about the gloves, they aren't even that good - it's the principle and the direction of the design decisions more than anything. " " So this thread isn't about the item which is the only example in the game of the thing this thread is about. ...WOW. |

@areallifecaribbeanpirate, Critical reading sure is hard, I guess.
My gripe with the gloves is not that they are gamebreakingly OP or anything like that. My gripe is that having the option to leech by sacrificing your glove slot is something simple that a self cast build would very likely opt to do, as outside of 2-socket command of the pit there aren't a lot of dps options for gloves that you'd be sacrificing. I find it ridiculous that remote mines, one of whose primary downsides is intended to be that you lose on-hit effects including leech, now has this easy option while self-casted spells do not have an easy equivalent. This is especially egregious because self-casting has substantially less damage than mines, and you have to stand and deliver your damage which often results in death. Now that mines can be detonated mid-throw, there is functionally no difference between mines and self-cast with respect to dealing damage immediately, making self-cast objectively inferior unless the mine in question is anti-synergistic with mine support, e.g. ED. If you still have trouble understanding that, then you're on your own, sadly, since my patience for willful ignorance of intent is reduced the older I get. " I mean, you can stop anytime you want to stop entertaining the rest of us. You have yet to make a SINGLE coherent point in this entire thread, which is why I'm still on the fence about if this is straight trolling or not. Just in case you're (somehow) serious, I'm gonna have to point out how incoherent your entire argument becomes when you're trying to say that it's unfair when mines get leech by completely sacrificing a glove slot for no other benefit (and arguably a pretty substantial downside), whereas spellcasters can't get leech without sacrificing PART of the usefulness of their belt/weapon/amulet/flasks/ring/etc. And all of this is if we're humoring your completely arbitrary and ridiculous "self cast spellcasters don't use ES leech" stipulation, which is a big lulwhut on its own. I mean, Shavs + Pain Attunement are still in the game, last I checked, which means any self cast spellcaster not using those with ES leech is just choosing to be bad on purpose. |

Omg Miners can sacrifice glove slot for 1% leech omg broken

" " Reading sure is hard for some folks 'round these parts. |

" ... lol Mines get 1 mediocre way of leeching and you're freaking out over it. You think there's no easy way for casters to leech? Really? Doryani uniques, atziri's flask, temple amulets, shaper/elder amulets, boot enchant, a bunch of passive tree nodes that give es leech if you're going es build and es leech gem, a couple caster ascendencies with baked in spell leech. All of these are individually rarer than the mine gloves probably because those gloves are gonna be a common 1c unique because it kinda sucks. But there's way more options that it's easy to get leech as long as you land on any one of them. But yea continue on. While you're at it, you might as well complain totems can leech for players too. |

" GGG "Fuck melee and fuck self-cast in particular" xD |

Enabling mines to leech is ... mind-blowingly dumb imho.
It clearly means that the "balance" team does not know what to do with the game anymore. SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

" @GGG^ True Strike A lot of the forum goers here in the official forum could do a better job especially collectively in fixing the game even if that meant a few cancerous tumors of the community had to get butthurt plenty more players would rush in to replace them not only in number but in monetary gain for GGG. I'd give up just about everything i own in this world to sit in on some of these decisions they are making and actually be able to input on the shit like the forced meta shifts and bad decisions that have slowly destroyed this game little by little. When a company gets as big as GGG you see popular streamers getting more input than people who have been with them for the longest and truly love their game, Cant say I've been here the longest but its been a very long time and i do truly love this game. One can only hope the devs realize the potential of their own community here on the forums with players from every corner of this game from the obscure minority to the mainstream heavy hitters before its too late. I've seen what can happen when game devs collaborate with some of their most passionate players and sure it can go bad sometimes but when that group of players is able to constructively collaborate great things can happen, More often than not good things will happen so long as its not a popularity contest and remains a constructive discussion where all party's give ideas and solutions a fair shot from multiple perspectives at once. Innocence forgives you
