Tornado shot, how does it interact with pierce, chain and fork?

What i know is that the first projectiles will always pierce to detonation point, after that is where it starts to get tricky for me. I seen a whole bunch of tornado shot builds use chain and fork in them but don't know about pierce. How does the secondary projectiles interact with global extra projectiles/bow projectiles, chain fork and pierce in which order?

Global extra arrows only increases the initial number of arrows fired. The only way to increase the secondary projectiles is to get the helmet enchantment.

The secondary projectiles will pierce->fork->chain in this order
