So Diablo IV at Blizzcon this year(Chris interview)?

Looks incredible tbh, let's see if they nail the gameplay.

I hope it's good - GGG really needs some competition.

saw the game play on my phone but it looks like D3 with darker colors. Beside the character selection I didn't see anything else that I was like "WOW!" maybe i'm still bitter about D3.

The meat of an arpg is character creation and loot (itemization). No idea how well Diablo 4 will do in that department.

It wouldn't surprise me if GGG sent one of their employees to Blizzcon to test the gameplay demo.

Gameplay was not the issue with Diablo III. If they just keep that the same, then D4 will be perfect in that area. The fact that D3 felt like it plateaued really quickly and left you without much to do was the bigger issue. I never minded the art style, personally.

PoE is the other extreme where it goes out of its way to make everything as much of a PITA as possible, which is why I could never play it for more than a few hours per 3-4 months. The game just doesn't feel accessible, plus the performance is pretty piss poor (constant frame drops, etc.).

Diablo IV is looking Hot AF. I can't wait for it. Will Pre-Order ASAP.

Current itemization sucks. Got nothing on PoE.

Itemization is leagues better in PoE than in Diablo 3 (and current state of Diablo 4).

And yes I pick up every rare that i find, even if it is just for those juicy alts.

GGG did kinda botch up rares by introducing shaper/elder items. Shaper/elder items shouldn't have been made craftable. You can just use them as they drop (not able to be modified).

Most of the design errors for D3 could have been pointed out by literally anyone.

ok, so theres was an interview with that dude on youtube, fish wilson, whatever his name was, not our lord chris but the blizzard creature wilson that headed up d3.

in this interview he said a big bonus of him being the leader of diablo 3 was that he had never played d2 before he was hired to make d3... yeah... thats actually a thing. He went on to talk about how he then got out d2, loaded it up, and was able to then see it from a new players perspective in terms of making it a better game on his first playthrough.

now ok, d3 was in the making FOREVER, so by the time it hit the shelves were talking what? 7+ years? so ya by the time it comes out hes played a lot of d2.

but what i think we saw with d3 was a team of starcraft devs, rts devs, learning what an arpg was and trying to make one. I think blizzard as a company had to figure out what this genre was all about, they released a game, obviously didnt get it right, tried some changes, some were good, some made it worse, they didnt know who to listen to. How do we sort out the idiot noobs who should be told to shut up from the actual smart people who are accurately telling us where weve gone wrong here?




the team now is a new team, this wilson goblin doesnt work for blizzard, who are these new people? well, theyve had a long time to think about where they went wrong. for sure they have been looking very closely at poe and all our feedback here.

a team at blizzard put out overwatch, im a big fps fan, i first bought a pc in order to play the original doom after my uncle showed me wolfenstien 3d and the shareware demo for the upcoming doom at his house, i love fps. Overwatch is probably the best pvp fps game ever made, i cant think of any that even come close tbh. blizzard CAN do great things, and they can also do awful things...



man i hope they get this game right, but im far from presuming they will.

ya for sure man. I really didnt like the art style in places, in parts it was fine but overall i could have done without the children's channel aspects. the gameplay is great, if its just that again in terms of gameplay, yep, fine, im down. now just stick it in a game with an actual item system and build system worth talking about.

oh man, not sure how i feel about that. im really sick of trading in these sort of games, i might just totally abstain and go full self found with my buddies the entire way, fuck it.
