Frame Rate Target control not working on Windowed Fullscreen mode.
AMD's FPS Control won't work on Windowed/Windowed Fullscreen. I don't like using VSYNc so w/o frame control my FPS shoots up 100+. My monitor can only render 60fps so anything more than that is useless just making my GPU hot and consume more power. Please help me fix this. Thanks!

Have you tried that mode in other games? Does FRTC work there? Maybe it's not the game's "fault", but some sort of technical limitation of the drivers related to Windowed Fullscreen or something, because I tried Windowed, and FRTC didn't work with that, either.
If you're open to suggestions, I myself am using a combo of MSI Afterburner and RivaTuner Statistics Server, a combo for hardware monitoring and overclocking. RTSS has a frame limiter as well, and been using it for a few years now; worked fine with every game in every display mode so far, including Windowed Fullscreen PoE. Edit: a bit of Google-fu revealed that FRTC only works with Fullscreen Exclusive by design: "Frame Rate Targeting Control is a feature that enables users the ability to set a maximum target frame rate when playing an application in fullscreen exclusive mode.", from AMD Knowledge Base page for FRTC. it is working, open radeon settings and make click the tab named display and make sure freesync is on (it works fine for me)
Also, use vsync, that what it is for (limiting to your screens refresh rate) it dose not effect response times noticeably (you would need to be playing shooters at the high end to even nottice) Ancestral Bond. A) No, VSync isn't working.
B) "Do not use any sort of frame capping with FreeSync. The frame time analysis algorithms that govern FreeSync, FRTC or other methods will conflict and break both solutions. It's unnecessary.", also coming from AMD. Bottom line: find an alternative solution and don't use VSync, ever (ideally). It should be a fallback for "when everything else fails", not "the first thing to try". |

Hi! Sup! Thanks all for replies. I just want to clarify that im not using AMD's Freesync Tech. AMD's FrameTargetControl's used to work fine until this latest patch. I don't want to play on fullscreen mode because tabbing takes much longer compared to windowed fullscreen mode.
