Can Golems gain Innervate Buff?

Game gave me a 23%q lightning golem gem, so jumped into a golemancer build. Just wondering about the interaction between my lightning golems and linking them with innervate. Will they get the buff? Was thinking that giving them a chance to shock would maybe up the damage to another level, but don't know if it'll be worthwhile if they don't get the buff.
