Enemy respawn rate/triggers?

So how are enemy respawns handled in this game? Is it based on time, progression triggers, logging back in, etc...?

Currently playing Sacred and am getting a little tired of the near-immediate respawns.
Enemies don't respawn within an instance. You can reset the area to respawn them if you like (which will also generate a new random map), or you can leave the instance empty until it resets itself (8-15min, depending on the area).
Closed Beta/Alpha Tester back after a 10-year hiatus.
Kiwi pets and Spark spam FTW.
