1 EX/Hr
" There is that thing about this game I would call "standard" (no, not the league) that is vastly different between players. If you e.g. say "your typical cyclone build", how much DPS would that be? I played Cyclone at the start of the league (and switched to Blade Storm later on). My character stopped at 250 pDPS axes. I used Jack the Axe while mapping and barely upgraded it towards the end. Im pretty sure in your standard that character would be trash and way below "your typical cyclone build". This game scales rewards exponentially. I believe you, if you say 350c/hour on your character. But how much did you put into it? What is your standard? Last edited by Vias_Myton#7568 on Jul 11, 2019, 11:00:02 AM

i've played about 30 hours this week and got like 5c and 1 divine drop, hasn't been much fun when every upgrade I need even on my modest gear is 5ex!

" Then you need to become more efficient. Depending on what you find fun to do (bossing, low level speed farming, fully juiced high tier mapping etc) watch some videos/streamers and implement those ideas. Good luck. |

This league it's easier than ever to make steady currency, with how valuable alteration orbs are.
Say it takes you 5 minutes to complete a map. That's 60/5=12 maps per hour. Each map has 6 portals. That's 72 portals you can take. If you only pick up items smaller than 3*2, I estimate each full inventory as about 4 alterations on average. Which ends up being 72*4=288 alterations if you vendor for every portal. Alterations to chaos are currently 3.5:1, so that's making 288/3.5=82 chaos per hour. Play the game 4 hours a day, and that's at least 2ex. 30 hours would have been 15ex minimum at this rate. This is 80 chaos/hr without ANY other valuable drops, just picking up rare items, identifying them and throwing them at the vendor without even reading. It's nowhere even near the most efficient way to make currency, but you need zero skills or knowledge to do this. Eventually you learn to make currency by fancier ways, and vendoring becomes too slow for you. And sure, this may or may not be 1ex/hr after including other raw currency drops you get and whatnot. But, imo, it's close enough. just a scrub.

" i agree there are standards. see most people level up a character to like 70-75. try a t3 or t5 map or something, can't wipe it in 2 minutes and ditch the character and say its trash. your cyclone character as example, jack the axe is a 240-290 pdps axe. you can get like 430 dps axes (300 pdps) for 5-10c. when i started my cyclone slayer (which i don't play anymore) i just got a 1 alch sinvicta's mettle and wrecked the game. it was easy as hell, with huge aoe and good movement speed. keep in mind for talking about farming currency per hour, everyone is doing low tier maps. if you're level 90 doing lvl 70 maps you can probably equip white trash without stats and clear the map completely fine. stick with a character, level them up, upgrade them as you can. once you get 15 more passives from levels, slightly better gear (50c per equipment slot worth) and high level + quality gems you'll see a character improve so much its insane. so when i say "your typical cyclone build" i essentially mean someone that has around 2 ex worth of investment in gear throughout the character, probably lvl 85+, and leveled gems, with at least a 5 link. keep in mind 2 ex is only 350ish chaos, which isn't much for a character. by the time you level up to lvl 85+ you should have at least half that in rando currencies etc |

" Thank you for your lenghty answer. I'm still far from calling any part of the endgame "easy". Any upgrade feels like a road block instead of an opportunity. |

At roughly 90 seconds per glacier, I'm averaging about 1.5ex per hour.
