Why is glacier farming very profitable?

I tried it and I feels its overated. It drops low tier map, shit unique,not much currency unless maybe you even pick up alterations and we still have to consider its 2.5c per map half of the time no map drops. Some people claim on average 60c an hour which I find ridiculous

good biscos + item rarity gem + any map == 60

people are not farming it for maps but for the monolith drops. splinters/incubators/currency. i get tons of stuff from glacier farming

60c/hour seems really low. I think people that optimize a bit are hitting 1ex an hour?

Are you doing nothing but the monolith and then starting the next map? And are you full clearing the monolith?

A vaal ice nova or ed/contagion build will spawn and kill the monolith in under 30 seconds then go straight to the next map.

60c an hour is low they wouldn't do it for that, tbh i'd expect more in the range of several hundred

ya some people are claiming 600c per hour, and i believe it. they also set up their atlas to sustain glacier so any map that drops has to be a glacier, and so they don't need to buy the maps at all

i don't do glacier, i do my own thing, but im speed farming maps (not just legion encounters) and i can easily do 30 maps per hour. im getting probably 15c profit per map if i were to sell everything (which i don't) so thats 450c

keep in mind the more you farm and the more you throw in a dump tab the more time it takes to sort and try to sell it all. selling it is what takes the time, and you're also not going to sell every single thing.

you really need to get tons of incubators and fossils before you can bulk sell them, and IMO you're better off using most incubators especially the low tier ones.

anyway in just like an hour and a half or so of casual farming i ended up getting like 500 jewelers and about 100 fusing. that alone is worth about 3/4 an exalt. you also end up getting exalt drops quite frequently.
i feel like im on the unlucky side of exalt drops right now and i have 17

the real money is when you go through, sort all your stuff and bulk sell it off. chisels, alchemy, breach stuff, scarabs etc but you definitely need to do it longer than 20 minutes or something

Then you hire someone from Somalia to sell the stuff for you while you continue to farm... and at the end of the league you throw it all away.

Ppl build dedicated glacier farmers for anywhere between 10 and 20 exalt, you slap on 2 mf items worth 4c total and expect to get the same results?

You can make a lot of currency farming glacier, but it takes a good build and efficient gameplay to do so.

It has almost no cost investment in terms of maps and mats unlike red map farm.
