PSA: PoE Does Have Regional Pricing

So I happened to come across this post on Reddit asking for GGG to implement regional pricing (since dollars can be worth a ton in some countries) - https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/c47dm0/i_hope_ggg_considers_regional_pricing_some_time/

It appears many international players don't know that this game DOES have regional pricing, just not innately. Basically, if you play the game via Steam and make your purchases through there, you'll be offered a regional price rather than the dollar value. The Reddit post has some screenshots linked at the bottom that show the difference. If you use the stand-alone client, you can also do this by just making purchases through the website after changing your region - click the little flags at the top right (yeah, I know it's a limited selection).

Unfortunately, GGG hasn't seen fit to frontload this information by integrating it into the game itself, so here's getting the word out. Feel free to share below any other tips about how to make the games' purchases more accessible to those in countries with unfavorable exchange rates. Cheers!

interesting.

so they can eventually get rid of their "sales" events which' reason has ever been that there is no regional pricing...

I've never heard them saying that sales are there to make up for a lack of regional pricing. They're sales - their purpose is to offer everyone a discount, American or no, in order to boost volume. I don't see how regional pricing changes that logic. The non-American playerbase still stands to save money during a sale, even if the sale is already priced according to their region.

sales never made sense for items with persistent value which have a status (as a supporter in this case) attached. because they blur that status.

it makes sense for consumables though or paytowin items that players need to play or win the game and so players can't wait endlessly to purchase them.

the only use of sales has been the missing regional pricing.
