Yes, deal increased physical is on side of dealing it and all effects are additioinal.
Take increased physical is on side of taking dmg and all effects are additional. Between them, it's multiplication. As there is not much sources of take increased physical - it can be threated as more multiplier. As there is lot of source of dealing increased physical, it's subject to "natural" diminishing returns as you invest more and more into it. And btw more and increased is different - one is additive, second is multiplicative. Also curses doesn't take 100% effect against bosses, but like 60% effect. MY CHALLENGES ARE DONE ON HC, IT'S NOT SC GUYS!

Keep in mind brutality is a more multiplier, aside from its quality bonus. But yes, vulnerability is very strong, even against bosses.
iirc intimidate is another source. |

Brutality affects your damage output (you hitting enemies).
Vulnerability affects your damage input (enemies hitting you). "Increased" means it is multiplicative. "Additional" would = Additive. To recap there are actually 4! different types of increases/mores that can be applied to physical damage now:
Player side we have -Increased physical damage (or damage, or damage with attacks/spells as applicable) this is additive with itself as Filousov explained. Frequently gets up to 400+% and ends up being a weak bonus to scale further in end game. -More (physical/attack) damage. Each is a separate multiplier, note that a gem like Brutality may have both a More and an Increased line on it (the increased line comes from gem quality) Monster side we have -Increased (physical/generic damage) taken. Additive with itself, but sources are somewhat rare. Common sources are maim support, intimidate, or vulnerability. This will rarely get above 50-60% total. -More physical damage taken. Currently only appears on the new aura 'Pride' this is a separate multiplier just like the player-side More damage, except it's a debuff. So your damage looks like this Base Damage X ( 1 + % increased bonus A + % increased bonus B + etc ) X MoreDmgA X MoreDmgB X etc. X ( 1 + % increased damage taken A + % increased damage taken B + etc ) X PrideMore At least as a quick and dirty way of looking at the various increased/more bonuses. The real forumla is even more complicated and it's why Path of Building is so great to double check how exactly a given upgrade will function. |

Please note that Vulnerability is a curse, which have severely reduced effect on bosses, where ultimately you want them the most.
Pride is an aura that doesn't suffer from that drawback. Costs more mana, but the effect is more than worth it, if you can spare the reservation. Carry on my waypoint son, there'll be peace when maps are done.
