Reproduction of leap slam/flame dash double casts (NOT DUE TO ATTACK/CAST SPEED)
|
I'm having difficulty bringing attention to this, but the movement skill double casts are due to a skill queue issue, not just cast speed. Everyone is assuming that "you're just holding the button too long", but I've come up with 2 methods that show that it's about skill queueing.
Here's a post I did in another thread a few hours ago as a preface: " I want to elaborate on this. Let's set three time variables for how long you hold the button down for. X = Very fast click Y = Time it takes for a normal double cast Z = Greater than X, less than Y Obviously holding down for Y time will make you double cast, as it should. The problem can be demonstrated with a Z time press using the stash as laid out in the quoted post. I'm not sure why this happens (maybe closing the stash window counts as an action), but it clearly makes a double cast happen when it shouldn't. There's only 2 steps to reproduce this bug. 1 - Go to your hideout and open your stash 2 - Hold leap slam/flame dash button down for Z time (it won't work if you target too close to the stash) This will always make me double cast. And just for clarity, Z time should be too short to make you double cast under normal circumstances. If it's not working for you, hold a little longer, but obviously not as long as Y time. The other method is harder to pull off, but if you get what I'm saying about the stash method then you should try it out. The overwriting of the skill use between press and release of the movement button is the problem that's driving people crazy I think. Last bumped on Jun 27, 2019, 7:58:07 PM

Bumping this since the patch didn't fix it. Confirmed that it works with shield charge also. The stash method also works with a map device or crafting table, but not any NPC windows.
I've found a possibly related glitch with movement skills + channeled skills. I've tested with leap slam/shield charge and blight/scorching ray. Pressing the movement skill, then quickly letting go and pressing the channeled skill will make the channeled skill cast forever when the movement skill finishes. |

It's mainly namelocking issue rather than queueing itself.

Not sure why, but after the update sometimes it cast flame dash 4 times in a row. 3 from the loaded and the last one delayed.

Just an update, figured out with a friend that the double jump from stash/mapdevice/crafting is actually caused by the inventory closing. So the bug reproduction can be done from anywhere where you can attack.
1. Open inventory 2. Hold leap slam down 3. Close inventory 4. Let go of leap slam Instant double jump recipe. |

A lot of movement skills were broken somehow I guess. After 3.7.2 flame dash works more awful than it was before. Try to cast flame dash while moving and you'll see a delay after cast is complete. But if you start moving immediately after flame dash, there won't be any delay.

Tested & Confirmed with EVERY Skill in the game that is able to HIT (for movement skills, the NPCs have to be lined up DOUBLE PIXEL PERFECT, so when you JUMP your mouse is EXACTLY on them.) You also DO NOT need the inventory whatsoever.
This INCLUDES ALL SUMMONS (for raise spectre, does not matter what you're raising.) We're human. Some of us make more mistakes than others. :) Last edited by bvanharjr#5617 on Jun 27, 2019, 7:51:28 AM

Just tested it, 100% reproducible with any menu screen. So I tried it with standard movement. ALSO 100% reproducible.
Mouse1 = move R = Leap Slam Press and hold R, click M1, let go of R. This results in two Leap Slams where if I didn't press M1, it would have only done one Leap Slam. It's more difficult to reproduce on slow attack builds because there is a timing window. This is why most people assumed faster attack speed was the cause since you'll hit the window faster.
