Vaal Righteous Fire bugged with Eldritch Battery and Mind Over Matter

If you have Eldritch Battery and Mind Over Matter, and activate Vaal Righteous Fire, 100% of the damage is dealt to the Energy Shield covering your mana before any is dealt to your life, instead of 30%.


Before Activating VRF, 6223 total Life+ES.



After Activating VRF, I lose 1,866 Energy Shield, 30% of the 6223 total. All 1,866 damage is removed from my Eldritch Battery Energy Shield, instead of the correct 1306 Life/559 Energy Shield split.

Having a the same exact problem with my build.

This thread/bug report in around March - April was posted which seems to be the issue.

"In 3.4 Vaal RF was made to take the combined total of 30% Life + ES from ES first then life to enable LL builds to use Vaal RF. This to some extent made Vaal RF harder to use with Eldritch Battery builds since Vaal RF still takes the full amount from ES preventing EB builds from using skills immediately after using Vaal RF. This seems un-intended since EB makes ES no longer behave as life but as mana and as such should not prevent the 30% of life from being bypassed."

Pretty sure this is interaction is unintended but they should fix this ASAP as it makes using Vaal RF unusable and a death sentence for hardcore characters.
