Flame Dash Double Cast Issue
The Flame Dash double cast seems to be a latency issue where the key depress is not registering faster than the spell casts, when the cast speed is very high, causing the spell to trigger twice.

I'm having this issue with several spells on PS4. Flame dash and Contagion being the 2 with the most issues. And with today's patch on PS4, when I pick up items (press X) it picks up the item and cast the spell assigned to the button at the same time. Looks like something faulty in the button press mechanics that's causing spells to multi cast.

I just figured out some stuff about this issue. It definitely has to do with the skill queueing. I tested it with some of the movement skills, but these issues only seem to work with movement skills with no CD (leap slam and flame dash).
One method to replicate this is to open your stash, then use the skill while the stash is still open. If you click quick enough it won't happen, but give it just enough time and it will work 100% of the time. This is more apparent if you do it on a character with slower attack speed/cast time. This led me to think about the queueing, and I figured out that if you hold down your movement skill, press a non-instant skill, then let go of your movement skill, the queue will overwrite the non-instant skill with another movement cast. I tested this with low cast speed flame dash + tempest shield. Hopefully devs can see this and get some insight into these complaints. |

When surrounded by gear, I click A to pick something up and then when i click A again to pick up another highlighted object, it casts flame dash. if i move a little bit it allows me to pick up, but standing still seems like every other thing i click casts FD. Also happens when breaking crates or selecting objects.

As stated above, its really noticeable with skills that don't have a cooldown. If I press my contagion button it almost always cast at least 2 with a single button press. This is breaking my build as then I don't have enough mana to cast ED. To fix this I have to turn off one of my 2 auras to give me more mana because of the multi-casting.

SO, the recent update fixed some of this. However, NOT ALL OF IT. now when i pick up an item, not only does it pick up that item, but it casts flame dash. So unpredictibly i zoom into another room full of bad guys and get pwnd. Close, but no cigar. At least i can pick up more than one item at a time though, but randomly it seems to also cast flame dash when performing actions.

The root cause of this bug make many other skills double cast, and GGG just tried to focus on this single particualr case playing around as if they are fking blind or something and miserably failed.

Seems to have been improved for me now in 3.7.2, but it still isnt fixed fully.
Before todays patch 1 was double casting flame dash every single time i used it with 2+ charges. So much so that dashing up or down a ledge more often than not ended you right back at the same spot :) My friend have had less issues with it than me (maybe about 25% chance) since day one and the main consistent difference between us have been that i have had more castspeed than him. I also tried unlinking faster casting with flamedash and it did take it from 100% chance to doublecast down to maybe 90%, so castspeed did seem to have an effect. Today Now when i tried it in the hideout after the patch it seemed to be fixed, but once i used it in a map it started again, but now "only" maybe a 50% chance chance to double cast, or slightly more. Noticed that it seems to only do it while having frenzy charges now. Cast time: 0,30s (buffed) 0,27s Latency: 33ms |
