A Nexus for the rest of us (Synthesis as a feature)

I often fire up PoE in order to mollify the stress and attention debt I have accrued over the course of my day or week.
I have, over my life, had some issues with distress and getting into/trouble getting out of a rut. PoE has been a welcome respite from this world, an escape to one that takes 100% of my attention and occupies the part of my brain that obsesses about my idiosyncratic "stuff." I enjoy watching Zizaran sometimes as I play. He remarked one day that off-stream he sometimes just mindlessly runs Blood Aqueduct. I have done this too, and I wasn't even sure why. At the time I felt guilty, as if I was wasting my valuable PoE time that could have been spent on something "productive." This feeling has steadily increased as my Einhar, Jun, Zana, Alva and Niko todo lists keep piling up and nagging me like an annoying wife or mother (i love my mother, really). Since the game's inception, I have wished for a way to chain mindless monster slaying from one encounter to another, much like you can do in Blood Aqueduct. You just ctrl-click the door or waypoint and off you go, whirling or jumping or dashing along in a nice straight line, monsters and 6-sockets falling to the ground like leaves in an Autumn storm. I hated Delve at first, but when I realized that it was a way to do exactly this, I forced myself to learn how not to die every time I go in and get lost in the darkness. I love delve now because it is a way to run Blood Aqueduct, but you get tons of loots while you're doing it. The Memory Nexus can be used in the same way. While leveling to 100 in the last race, I just stuck one memory on each side of the Nexus and entered/exited it by ctrl-clicking on the door, finished 4, got a drink or a stretch, then busted out 4 more in quick succession. I finally had fun with Synthesis League. I hated it beforehand. Storing/managing all of the synthesized items gave me an ulcer and another thing for Zana (my in-game wifu I guess) to nag me about. What if, instead of using the Nexus to que memories, it could be used to que maps. The mechanics of how this would work are beyond my understanding of programming, etc, but it would allow me to throw 8 or 12 maps into a que and do one, click the door, do another click the next door, etc. The nexus que has a search box built-in so you can already search for the affixes/qualities you do or do not want. Another awesome thing about the Nexus is you can drop things on the floor. This was a fantastic thing in D2/D3. It feels very bad not to be able to do this in our hideouts. Synthesis takes up a giant part of a zone, no mobs can spawn there, the micro-management sucks and it's super buggy and awkward. Maybe something like this could turn the basic mechanic and the beautiful art of the Nexus in to a feature that feels really good and lets me load up 12 maps, watch Ziz, relax and forget about the nagging I have already endured today from the IRL. -juo Last edited by juo#0098 on Jun 2, 2019, 8:44:11 PM Last bumped on Jun 2, 2019, 8:43:55 PM
