If I was a betting man... They will keep them local.

Dallas is the center of the internet, the world, and the universe, everything rotates around Dallas. I would know, I live there. Perfect location for the server.

Regardless location isnt really an issue anymore these days, as most data over distance is nearing the theoretical max %60 of light speed with nearly no delay on hardware along the way. 40ms from la to ny.

Hello Mr. Network Engineer. I'm a software engineer, myself, and I specialize in graphics programming for games. That 40ms is a single ping... whereas a game engine would be running through an infinite loop of checking user input, sending/requesting server data, updating local data, then rendering everything to screen accordingly, wash rinse & repeat, for what people would hope to be at least 40-60 times per second or more (aka "FPS")... So depending on the engine's main loop in it's entirety, at the very least that 40 ms would actually end up being squared (40ms * 40 fps), causing an extra 1.6 second lag time!

So you see, every ms counts. And in some cases for certain modern day gaming, even nanoseconds are precious.
Over two years! 2 years and 18 days! Daaaaayum
