What percentage of the player base plays Standard Mode?

They're never going to remove Standard. There's no reason to remove Standard. Even the most ardent Standard-hating league-only players wouldn't want Standard just gone.

Everybody plays or has played Standard. Nobody new starts the game in a league and then never follows their characters to Standard. It's where new players learn the game independent of the madhouse burnout-inducing race leagues, it's where people who've burned out on leagues go to enjoy the spoils of past victories for a while, and it's where some players prefer to be so they can play at their own pace instead of having to slam every last available minute into a race league because if they decide to Sin Against God and take a week off they're basically out of the league and can no longer progress.

Standard is there to make sure there's always something to play. Knock it off.

Somewhere between 0% and 100%. There is more than 0 players, and there are players that never touch Standard (myself included...I can't because stash is literally broken).

That's the only honest answer anyone can give. Everything else is speculation. I think at some point Chris might have mentioned a number in the area of 10% but don't quote me on that; and that's probably pretty loose in terms of when that measurement was taken.

a lot of people talk down on standard which whatever but i love standard always have always will i never do leagues but i do get people love leagues and hate standard so before you go to run your mouth about it try it first to me its a lot easier to make it in a new league but to make it in standard were all the gear is maxed and cost a lot for you to grind up that kind of wealth to me is much harder.

I'd say 10-20% min-max. Trade activity is overall lower but because everyone has TONS of hoarded endgame stuff. So i wouldn't consider overall trade volume accurate.
