Why does PoE make my RTX 2080 TI work at full capacity when I am idle in hideout?

No poe - drops down, fans quiet and temperature low.
Start poe - temp goes to 85 degrees celcius, fans go max speed and make a ton of noise, even when nothing is happening on screen except an idle game It's a fairly high end rig I've custom built and I don't get the same problem with other games Last bumped on Jun 25, 2019, 11:53:02 AM

because while you play a game it processes and display the graphics? that and you likely don't have anything limiting the framerates.

enable vsync and lower settings will help, otherwise it will auto oc and target highest framerate possible
