" I said my network. :) If you are using your own internet connection, I can still pinpoint the fact, that a workstation disappeared from network unexpectedly and investigate that fact if it happened enough times, so even then it's not full-proof. |

So, anyone found a solution?
Trying to install on my uni account. I'm not an admin user however I can install other programs. I'm a third year so it's supposed to be a less restricted account. Seems like POE is just doing: if (!userIsAdmin()) { complain() } else { install() } Brutus. Do you even sync?

Here's what I do at work. YMMV
Contact support, tell them I have scanner drivers to install (this part is actually true). They give me temp admin access to install the drivers locally. During that time I install the drivers (I really do need them) and then take a hop skip & jump over to control panel user accounts and set up a local (this computer only) admin account so I can install shit whenever I want later. Can't say this won't get you in trouble. It might. Last edited by NightCicer#2430 on Apr 11, 2013, 12:41:59 PM

I was searching around for an answer to this myself - and I thought I'd share something interesting nobody mentioned.
Since the installer is a .msi file, you can use the command prompt to extract it without needing admin priviledges. Works like a charm. Here's a page about it if anyone wants more details. Hopefully this finally answers the question of how to install without access to an admin account or external storage. Have fun. Last edited by CrazyMLC#3348 on Jun 8, 2013, 11:03:07 PM
