Elemental Equilibrium and this boot enchantment.

On my scrorching ray char I used to run a CWDT & added cold damage & blade vortex setup to trigger elemental equilibrium. Now I got that boot enchantment:
I replaced the added cold damage gem with a culling strike gem because of that enchantment. I'm pretty sure that I'm right but just to make sure 100%: The enchantment will not work with scorching ray because it's a channeling skill that does not hit, right? Therefore it will not mess up my elemental equilibrium, right?
