So how exactly curses work in this game?

Okay, so I have my soulrend trickster clearing maps and stuff. Maps itself aren't an issue but bosses sometimes are. I have my 4-link Bane with Temp Chains and Despair (supported by efficacy) dealing with bosses pretty quickly but not always that quick(and Betrayal events are a mess, I can't deal with them). The question is: how is curse limit here working and if I use uniques with +1 curse on enemy, will Bane stack on bosses and deal more and more damage depending on how much curses I can apply to an enemy?

Normal curse limit applies while playing with Bane skill.
You need +1 Curse somewhere to apply both curses at once.
The curses must be linked with Bane to increase damage / debuff duration.

On the other hand you can apply as many curses as you want but you´re limited with +1 curse things.
The curse effectiveness is lowered while fighting the bosses.

Bosses have 33% or 66% less effect of curses on them. This includes map bosses, Incursion architects, Betrayal targets, Breachlords, Shaper, Elder and others.

And if I for example have +1 applied curse from passive tree and +2 from items will it be total of four applied curses from my gems? And what 4th curse will it be if I only have 3 of them? Is it possible to apply bane 2nd time?

Bane deals chaos debuff and is not stackable.
You need to deal other source of chaos damage overtime (SR, blight in your case) while Bane debuff is active.
I see you´re using Soul Rend. Do you use it vs Bosses or for clear?
(some damage support instead of GMP vs bosses).

In fact you can apply up to four curses at once (+1 from passive, +2 from items) but you have only two curses linked with Bane.

If you want to apply more curses at once you need to link them with Bane or apply them in other way.

I think you would apply Enfeeble curse to increase your survivability
You can put it into your Boots and cast it by yourself or by CWDT eventually.

I don´t think you need fourth curses and you would use better ring (with life/res) instead of the +1 curse you´re using right now.

About the boss having multiplier instead of addition since 2.4.0 do you know if it is posible for a player to have a "more curse effect" multiplier somehow? Or do you only have access to additive "increased"?

Bosses which previously had 60% or 80% less effect of curses on them now have 33% or 66% less effect of curses on them respectively. This includes map bosses, Incursion architects, Betrayal targets, Breachlords, Shaper, Elder and others.
Modifiers which previously affected the Cast Speed and Duration of Curses now instead affect Curse Skills (including the Curses and Bane).
2.4.0
Bosses that had a reduced effect of curses on them now have a multiplier rather than a reduction. Over time, more and more curse effect has been made available to players. With the boss curse effect reduction being additive, the increased curse effect available to players overwhelmed it.

arguably still trivialise most bosses.

You can only get "increased" curse skill effect (Skittering Runes passive and similar staff) therefore the curses are a lot weaker vs Bosses (especially Uber Bosses - Elder, Shaper, Guardians, ..).

Enfeeble and Temp Chains are a bit special cases.
There´s futher difference between normal/magic and rare/Unique monsters and curse effect.
It means these two curses are a bit weaker vs bosses than before but also a lot weaker vs Rare monsters than before.

On the other hand offensive based curses are stronger than before which seems weird to me with the current power-creep but that´s it:)
