How did "Memory Rewards" make it into the game?

I'm genuinely curious to know if anyone considered the loss of immersion a thing called "Memory Rewards" could cause in an action RPG game.

Edit: this is not a complaint. It's just a bump in the road.

Immersion? What immersion? This is a speed racer game, not an RPG.
You see? That's what I mean. Silly things like "memory rewards" makes the game feel like a speed racer. I'm perfectly fine with the rewards being as they are, but naming them "memory rewards" sounds like a Dev thought it was ok to use their own language in game. It's not ok. I don't want to consciously say "I'm going to the land of memory rewards".

That little cutscene with cavas and zana? That gave me the most immersed and interested feeling I've had all league. It took out of the speed racing mentality. Super cool.

I don't like how zana took over for cavas, but that's another story for another post.
Wow. People will complain about anything. I agree with you on Zana. It's sloppy. She shows up on the same map for different things now.

We actually playing NFS, yeah.
Whos havin better movement skill - wins.
Not that I pay it much attention, but isn't the term used in the game, "distant memories"?
It's funny how the first guy tries to take ownership of the second guys' claim that PoE is a speedracer because the first guy wants to be as flexibile as possible with his complaints so as to pile on as much as he can vs PoE.

Because your theory about immersion being hurt by memory rewards is something I've never seen before. Namely because PoE has more of a comic book's mentality when it comes to its universe. The way Marvel has a multi-verse with unlimited Spider-People/Venom combinations, PoE has infinite maps, time travel, and thus alternate universes of its own.

Therefore, PoE is a game about a shattered reality, it gives teh devs tons of freedom for stacking 100 Alva's, Nikos, or Zanas into a single space if they want to. And because its all backed by there canon of a shattered reality filled with shattered spirits and shattered gods wth shattered minds and shattered souls... it all becomes perfectly consistent and perfectly immersive.

In fact, the more chaotic it is, the more convincing its narrative becomes.

So I say, if you are looking for something to complain about. Try again.
What in God's name is this thread I don't even..
I'll try to explain it (mainly because I'm really bored giving an exam...)

He thinks the term "Memory Rewards" is in itself a mistake to use. He thinks it's a term that a game designer would use internally, but come up with some snazzy in game term like "Remembered Treasures" or something so that he felt like he was being told a story instead of playing a game.
