Feature Request - Support PS4 controller's touchpad.

Do developers forget that PS4 controller has a touchpad? Please utilize it better.

It would be great to use touchpad as "mouse scroll/browse" for inventory management, stash and trade market. Right now it's really tedious with d-pad and thumbsticks.

If you guys agree, please let them know and maybe our voices will get heard.

Yes please.
I hope it's not just for PS4 <> X-Box parity reasons. AFAIK there are small differences anyway.

That touchpad has rarely ever been used properly in the PS4's lifetime, usually for XBox parity reasons, but other times due to lazy developers.

That leaves the touchpad as a quirk of the PS4 that will likely be unique to the console forever, and disappear entirely from the next gen machines. As a result, games that might make the next-gen leap are possibly avoiding using the touchpad properly so that doesn't cause further problems in the future, or feel like next-gen versions have had a control downgrade.

Meh. Warframe uses it for custom mapping. Having 4 more inputs isn't required but it is still nice to have. Let's be honest, just having a custom mapping option would be ideal and GGG could let the players decide if they want to use the touch pad for additional inputs. Whike swioe inputs are not ideal, they should be an option for the player regardless.

Sony are the kings of great hardware that is underutilized and undersupported by third parties. I think the Vita is still a great piece of tech and Tearaway showcases the possiblities of it and the PS4 controller well. And I fondly remember having a living room of friends or my mom join me in movement sensing camera shenanigans on the PS2 way before Kinect was a thing.
I wonder how complicated the touchpad is to access for a game. As a Dev I would be all over that for functionality, especially for a complex PC port game.

Lets forget the "mouse-like" capabilities of the pad for a second, even then that pad is actually 4 physical buttons just sitting there unused ,yes theres actually 4 physical buttons under the touch pad on each quadrant , its a secondary D-pad, just going unused.

Devs dont want to program mouse like stuff, fine i understand that, but atleast use the dam 4 buttons that are just sitting there or let us bind them to skills ?
