Defeating the elder guardians in red maps does not advance the questline

Killed the guardians in red maps as per other leagues ive played in but this time it did not progress the story. I killed elder to reset the atlas i got the achievement but he instantly respawned. The guardians spawned on red maps elder moon temple. I have the achievement at least.

" Thanks for your report, we're changing the text to be more accurate. The quest should say something along the lines of "Defeat Elder's Guardians while Elder occupies a Red map" as opposed to what it currently says. Basically, you need to kill the Guardians while Elder is on a Red map, but the Guardians can be anywhere (White/Yellow/Red map). I hope this helps. | |

Having killed elder in a red shaped version of the same map i managed to reset the atlas but i still did not receive the memory fragments when i killed the guardians on red maps the first time round. So now i have the elder fragment and not the guardians. I'm sure i'm not going crazy as i have done this enough times to know what to expect. I really don't want to have to spend the time and currency to repsawn them all only to have this issue repeat itself.
