Path of Exile on Playstation 4 Reviews (Karvarousku, Tarke, RaizQT)

Karv Review (28 mins) - https://youtu.be/uKdqs2o4n1E

Tarke Review (31 mins) - https://youtu.be/i7Vyq90Ridw

Raiz Review (12 mins) - https://youtu.be/lgv8RHrqgVc

TL;DW (only for Karv):-

PROS:

- Surprisingly smooth gameplay once you get used to it

- UI is nice, vendoring/inventory management itself isn't that bad

- Looting can be better than on PC with the right filter strictness

- Loading times (on PS4 Slim, no SSD) seems to be better than GGG told us. Still not great, though (underpresent and get praise, huh?)

- Scalable UI

- Less strain on your hands while playing

- Can actually play the game, while using all skills/buttons with less fingers

- Trade market from hideout

CONS:

- Can't make your own filter (maybe some "hacking" to change the default filters is possible?)

- Looting is absolutely horrible with the wrong filter strictness

- Loading times (might not be cons on SSD)

- Cannot change keybinds ingame, which means we have to change them in the accessability settings of PS4 which is bad if you play other games too

- Flasking can be horrible

- Trading is going to be hell if you want to buy rare items with specific mods

- FPS Drops (might not be an issue on SSD)

- Crashes quite often

- Getting used to playing on a controller might take a while

Pretty much the same assessment I have.

I will say that the console version, or should I say "controller" version, does really well with fire and forget skills like Winter Orb and Brands. It almost feels better then mouse and keyboard.

If you are any build that uses more than 3 skills, however, you will probably want to commit yourself to an asylum after playing it. I think playing summoner was the worse experience for me.
Only thing I feel that would make the experience better....I need my chat back. I miss it more then I expected. It feels empty.
Dude u miss 1 con.... i dont have all my tabs, or cosmetics. i didnt check but if u still need a premium tab to sell items, this is dead on ps4 for me

The flasks thing is prety bad.

Stuff like leap slamming out of danger is not going to happen due to auto targeting monsters (might be better with whirling blades of flame dash)

In town, trying to interact with NPC's or the waypoint/stash is bothersome if any player is near them becuase it highlights them instead.

Simmilarly you can't really snatch an item if there is any monster close by it.

MTX pricing (at least in the UK) is wrong the two $60 dollar packs for synsethis are £57.99, while the core $60 pack is £45.

As far as i can tell there is no way to not level a skill, it just dose it automaticaly, so stuff like CWDT can't be kept at level 5 (or any other level)

The latency/mode of sync is not particularly good and you can't do anything about it.
Seems the game is using predictive sync and quite often monsters are displayed in front of you but no amount of swining will hit them becuase they are not actualy there.

Not a fan of the UI, in inventory it is very cluttered...so much so that sometimes you can barley even see what you are highlighting.

Not crashed yet though.
Ancestral Bond. It's a thing that does stuff. -Vipermagi

I was referring to paying for the console itself. Private leagues also seperates you from other players but still cant provide even the slightest QOL because of pay-to-win. Yet buying a PS4 would clearly boost my winterorb gameplay and reduce my chances for carpal tunnel syndrome :)

Just a couple of points, you can highlight npcs/stash in town regardless of guys in the way with R3 default, and you can stop gems from leveling by highlighting them in inventory, its an option shown per gem there (forgot button though).
I am honestly pretty impressed with the PS4 gameplay so far, I was expecting it to be alot clunkier than it is. No crashes and good load times so far, although I'm on a Pro with a SDD.

I think the biggest negative is probably the default setup for flasks, and using mobility skills is less accurate... it feels like it is just going longest distance in the direction you are pointing so far with flame dash so usable just not as controllable.
