Praise the toucan

Hey Guys,
I just joined POE Hardcore community like couple days ago, and have seen that ppl praise le toucan for luck and stuff, so i did it today before i started my oni goroshi farm, apparantly you get muted for that? Is this common? and if so why the hell? i mean it's a funny thing in the community while should u punish that with an 24Hours timeout, so i cannot trade and stuff on my freeday were i would be able to grind alot.
