Consistent Lag spikes linked to specefic Australian backhaul internet provider

Day 381 -

Beginning to lose hope. Please send help.
Same issues here in Darwin "MATE", note really my "Mate" at this rate. Issues from about 5.30 pm to 10.30/11 Pm then it's fine, Weekends can be rough too.

I'm not convinced the fault is with Mate or Vocus here, to be honest. These horrendous periods of lag are a recent thing as of 3.6 in Path of Exile. As in, it's seemingly more likely that GGG changed something in 3.6 that has led to this, if not directly caused it.

Not to point the finger or anything, because I honestly have no idea how often changes are made to the network infrastructure used by Vocus and Mate/iPrimus, but my logical brain assumes that such changes would be infrequent. Path of Exile, however, is updated/patched/changed on a regular basis - particularly with the release of a new major content patch/expansion. So, frequently.

Letting the logic follow, it would be a safer assumption that the cause of the latency spiking issue is related to something changed on GGG's end. Particularly when you also consider the fact that no other games seem to have this issue or anything resembling it - only Path of Exile.

All we really know for sure at the moment is that the issue is with a single upstream provider (Vocus) connecting to a single game (PoE). Whether that is Vocus' fault, GGG's fault, a third party (datacenter, NBN), or some combination thereof is unclear.

An open dialogue with GGG would go a long way towards clarifying this but unfortunately we are nearing three weeks now without a response.

Yeah. Quite disappointing/disheartening.

Here's my WinMTR trace (a few more packets than recommended, but oh well). Ran it at around 9:30pm AEST.

For reference, I'm in the ACT with Mate Communicate.
