The Rat Cage + Eye of Innocence + Vaal Molten Shell with 100% ignite chance + Ramako, Sun's Light

Hey there GGG and fellow exiles!

I know NOW this has been a problem for quite some time.. sadly I just found out about it AFTER I spend about 10ex.. (which is a lot for me)

So you basically know the combo of The Rat Cage + Eye of Innocence + Vaal Molten Shell with 100% ignite chance

you just chain infinite VMS explosion
because you take a physical hit ->VMS triggers -> ignites -> take 100 fire damage from EoI -> rat cage converts 10 of it to physical -> repeat

I played this a couple of leagues ago using a berserker.

I now got back to it and wanted to upgrade it and have fun with it.. so I use my passive reset and rerolled to chieftain, basically and specifically because I wanted to counteract the "new" -50% fire resi of rat cage with Ramako, Sun's Light (Chieftain ascendancy Passive)

SADLY this seems to be bugged, or not coded right..
Ramako, Sun's Light has 10% physical damage from hits take as fire damage and it seems like this just negate the 10% fire to physical from the rat cage.. so you do not take ANY physical damage and thus VMS does not trigger of it self..

however this should not be the case.. since I am taking purely fire damage from EOI 10% if this should be dealt to me as Physical and Ramako shouldn't even trigger.. and eeeeven if it would trigger it should then only convert 10% of those 10% from earlier back to fire.. so in any case I should take at least SOME physical damage from this interaction.. which I am not..


GGG please fix.. I know this has be asked for alot, and for a long time, and I know this is not my original idea.. but I kinda came up with this idea all by my self, also using Gluttony and Scold's all at the same time.. Usually I love PoE of the simple fact that EVERYTHING you think should work DOES work.. in this case it just seems bugged..

OR if it is intended.. please let us know why and how this is the case :)

Thanks for your report, I've made a post here some time ago.
This is intended behaviour as the "10% of Physical Damage taken as Fire" and "10% of Fire Damage taken as Physical" cancel each other out.
meh.. okay I thought that this was happening..
sad though, I wish it would both just resolve independently from one another.

but thanks for clearing it up! :)
