I mean, in one of the memory fragments he has the old line of the dying exile (the twilight strand guy that gets murdered by a zombie). A LOT of them aren't his memories. Maybe they're memories of stories or things he's witnessed, but not things he experienced himself.

There is a weird hybrid cutscene with fighting in the templar lab with Zana and Cavas and Venarius that explains all.

That area sucks ass btw, it doesn't kick your loot out to you afterwards and of course gives you no indication that it's different iin that aspect from the other synth areas you've entered so far so you have no idea.

I'm not reading all of that.

He's the guy who was eaten by a zombie right at the beginning. That much is obvious right from the start, since his dialogue in the first memory matches word for word the same dialogue from the scene at the start of the game.

Cavas would tell you that was somebody that the Exile knew. You can talk to him after triggering the 2nd dialogue of memories to get strong hints as to who he is and isn't because most of the memories he has aren't his own.
