intensify - should have far less increased aoe

let look on patch notes:
Added a new Intelligence Support Gem - Intensify Support: Supported skills have less Area of Effect but deal more Area damage per Intensity. Supported skills gain Intensity when used, and lose Intensity while moving or upon teleporting.

and later gems info:
increased aoe 54%
less aoe/intensity 12%

in lots of cases it will give you a bigger aoe than without this game. In my opinion it should have far far less increased aoe for now its a conc+incaoe in 1 game, lets say it better version of it. it gives more dmg than those 2 game combined (right after 3+casts but still)

if u move its better version of incr aoe
if u stay its FAR better version of conc eff
yea pretty balanced gem

yea but how about open ur eyes: if u move its just BETTER VERSION of inc aoe?

edit and read what i write after 3 casts its better than inc aoe and inc aoe COMBINED (more aoe and more dmg)

You want aoe to kill trash mobs faster
If you need 3+ casts against trash mobs your build suck

If you need 3+ casts against trash mobs your build suck

killing mobs cast 1 time and go ahead = better version of inc aoe
boss 3+casts = MUCH more dmg than conc effect and hmm instead less aoe u have bigger aoe?
no need to swap hands/gems everything in 1 gem.
so sth in wrong. inc aoe and conc effect need buffs or... less say it: ggg add op gem (and like most of new gems it should get nerf, but hey we could w8 100000000 leagues for this nerf like for arc mines/traps, gc and bv [just about 80% of builds on those gems in previous league])

First of all killing map boss is always waste of time (exception guardians)

So GL standing still to cast 3+ times when you are facing guardian, shaper, uber elder, deep delve boss because this is the only time when your dmg matters.


Also it's only 64% more at 4 stacks (current limit) vs 54% but you lose ability to move.

From the moment they announced new support gems i knew something like this was going to happen.

They deliberately add power creep because to balance the game at this state would mean to remake it from scratch.

The whole point is that you don't need 3 cast for trash mobs, when damage matters (=against bosses), then it automatically switches to 'blatant damage icnrease'.


And holy crap this gem is going to be fucking stupid against phased bosses ....

Are you trolling ?
Have you ever experienced such content yourself ? because it does not seem so.
When shaper starts throwing balls at you, you side step and have like ~2 seconds opening to dps him at best .... if you have 3 casts per seconds, you already reach 3 intensity after 1 second, if you have 4 casts per seconds you ramp up even faster ( and with such a gem, stacking cast speed will likely be a thing ).
Against any boss with phases, you can just stack damage like crazy and the moment they become targetable, BOOM.
SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

This gem only really matters for hand casters so I don't really see the issue with it. Hand casting was much worse than running totems/traps/mines due to the loss of survivability that comes with hand casting. This gems is risk vs reward as far as the extra damage goes.
Haven't they said they will buff selfcast this patch?
