Question about item gem slots

That's entirely not correct. 1H weapons and shield can only have a maximum of 3 sockets for balance reasons (compared to 6 sockets on 2H weapon/bows

so where is the balance when a 2 hander can have up to 6 sockets linked,
whereas i can only have 2 spells linked with 2 sockets each...

i mean (at least in my opinion) links are the most powerful tool in this game, so beeing able to have 1 spell linked with 5 features is nowhere balanced to have 2 spells linked to 2 features each...

so at least having shields able to roll 4 sockets max would be more balanced imho.
