Season One, Race Event 36: 3 Hour Solo

My character named OnlyPlayingForAnHour lived up to his name, I quit at 6pm at rank 99, literally at the entrance to merveil's lair @ Level 14.87 or so.

(edit: to be fair I should probably have been well past merveil at that point)

The absolute, number one, most critical part of being high on the ladder: never go back to town unless it is 100% absolutely necessary. In my case I made one extra trip (3 total). I still may go back twice (instead of three times), as I tend to run the passive node quests. (The shipyard cave is actually a fairly great place for melee characters to farm IMO, unless I"m missing something about the experience given by those particular enemies, virtually everything in the cave closes on you fast and dies rapidly).

Trips back would be: Medicine Chest for flask and third skill, and once for both passive points and the support gem if I need it (probably LoH, which IS quite useful). Might start skipping the crab though, not as critical to get the extra health at that level with some build tweaks I did and better playing skill. Going to tidal island first may be a poor choice (I used to die to hailrake commonly :X)


Brutus was kind to me, though both my weapon AND armor up to that point were base white items (the belt is actually from... Stranglecharm maybe? The weapon and armor are courtesy of the jailer though)

Most insane gear ever, just wished I was actually good at this lol.

Can't figure out how I couldn't pass #1 templar at the end heh, hard to find better ele cleave gear than what I had.

My drops were shit, surprised I came as close as I did.

How has nobody noticed how broken EK fork is? Started half an hour late and still got 5th farming Western in trash gear. Didn't even get the second wand till 10 minutes left.

I missed the start by 10 min, but was ok for me. Good drops, lot of fun. :) Finished 22(77%).

2nd Dualist, 3rd overall, I Just couldn't catch him, I think I shouldn't have done the 2 skillpoint quests but they lined up so well with my build idea and netted me some resist for all/fire at docks. I just don't have enough experiance on this build.

Leap slam > Full Life melee > Cold Dmg Linked, Double Strike for single target, hatred for my aura.



Had some insane luck and drops this race. Good race all!

Had no shitty maps and got lucky with WM and enfeeble which helped greatly in docks.

Interesting race!
I don't usually practice,just tried for the heck of it.
Ended up first shadow,cause most of the top shadows died.
I was doing well, got some lucky drops,but dced half way through marketplace, and had to run from the very start again, which ended up loosing me the race.


Got the unique ring a mob before hailrake, and the amulet off city of sarn.
My tri-link was very late and that slowed me down alot.
