C:\Program Files\Grinding Gear Games\Path of Exile>Packcheck
Checking pack file Content.ggpk...
Fatal error: Your pack file has become corrupted. Currently the only way to fix
this is to delete Content.ggpk and download it again by running the client.

I barely managed to run this game without it randomly shutting down my pc every 5-10 mins. it still shuts down my pc randomly some times. To fix this i have used the
"
--nosound
method and disabled all sound ingame.

Is there any other way to fix this? Because this problem has come with the recent patch. if this is going to be repeated after every patch, its just very horrible. any patch problem should not have to download the whole game again. I play ragnarok online and ive seen a fair share of patches crashing the game client over the years. but those were easily fixed by just deleting the most recent patch entry and re-patching. its easier to re-patch the most recent one than download the whole game every time this happens.

I'm not sure what you expect them to do right now about it.

They're planning on changing up the system to be able to detect corrupt files and repair them. that isn't there yet.

In the meantime, my suggestion is to get a fresh Content.ggpk file and once it is fully updated, make a backup of the file so if the main one gets corrupted, you can copy over a new one from the backup.

Every time there is a patch, just make a new backup (and either keep the old one around until you verify the new one works, or replace the old backup with a new one).

That makes it much easier to recover from corrupt content files without having to download the 6GB file each time. Good luck!
I'm having the same PAK corruption problem with the current patch as well as my gpu overheating to the point of auto shutdown (and this is the only game to cause that). I know this is beta and all but I'm afraid it will cause permanent damage to my laptop if I don't stop playing until this is resolved. I read something about turning on Vsync or using a frame limiter to counter this, but after I installed a frame limiter and ran the game it suddenly had PAK corruption...fun!

I really enjoy this game and hope these issues are fixed before the end of the beta period, as I would like to recommend PoE to friends.
