Fractured and Synthesised items appear to be following the same steps that the Veiled items followed, as in they cannot be shaper or elder bases.
Those things seem mutually exlusive (though the veiled mods can be crafted), as is indicated by the symbols to the left and right of the item name. Elder has little dark blue/purple-ish plus symbols, shaper items have a red compass rose, veiled items have the betrayal symbol, fractured items have that black-ish symbol and synthesised items have the yellow and blue thingy.

That's a good point. Fossil-crafted ES definitely doesn't want shaped/elder bases.

Everyone else would probably rather a shaped or elder non-synthesized astral plate though.
