[3.7] CI Spectre Summoner | ~11K (9K in 3.7) ES | All content viable |

Build idea: Using historically good spectres for single target damage (Tukohama's Vanguards) with new support gem for extra totems. After block rework I haven’t attempted life versions of spectre’s summoners, so I decided to go CI.

Build overview:
3.6 Implicit guide (no longer usable until Synthesis will go core)
1)Body armour: go for ES implicits (there are some guide on youtube or forums)
2) Helmet: use +3/+3/+3 to Level of Socketed Minion gems with crafted +1 zombie/skeleton (Buy 3 Hubris circlets with this mod, scour them, regal and annul. Then craft +1 zombie/skeleton on bench). In case +3 to lvl of Socketed Minion gems Hubris Circlet is too expensive - go for +2 instead (remember: one of 3 should be ilvl 84+)
3) Boots: pretty hard to get minion damage or spectre damage even with fossil update (bound fossil +1 spectre outcome on all 3 boots). Would not recommend trying to hit unless minmaxing
4) Amulet: Best approach is to buy Lapis amulets with locked +50 (or more) to maximum Energy Shield, scour them, regal and annul. Then craft 10% to summon Spectral Wolf on kill
5) Gloves: Same as amulet, but craft 20% increased Minion Damage on all 3
6) Weapon: Locked aps with same process and craft Minion Damage (better implicits will appear once fossils will become usable on fractured items)

3.7 changes
Even though ES got nerfed in all places, this build will still be able to achieve around 9K ES with new passive skill tree and dense fossil rework. Consider to run Solaris guards as spectres in new league for smoother gameplay. New "Wicked ward" Keystone is a huge quality of life boost.

Pros and cons
1.1)+high single target
1.2)+high eHP (around 9K ES around lvl 90)
1.3)+decent build for new leagues (2 unique items) with some differences with good scaling to endgame
1.4)+bad minion AI is not that big of a deal, because a lot of damage comes from their totems
1.5)+with decent gear may start killing endgame bosses on very low lvls (lvl 72 shaper kill/lvl81 uber elder kill in videos later)
1.6)–kinda slow clearspeed
1.7)–may become expensive while minmaxing
1.8)–tukohama’s vanguard playstyle is not everyone’s cup of tea (DoT damage, so no instant offscreen kills)

Ascendancy: Invoker-Soul Weaver-Commander of Darkness-Puppet Master

Gear explanation
Current gear:

Nerf to dense fossils in 3.7 will make expected ES values on non-jewelry pieces 50-60 lower than it is now
Detailed explanation:
Body Armor

Aim for 650+ES armor with minion life and (optional) increased effect of auras on you or 750+ES without those mods. If you want to craft it yourself use bound+dense fossils combination on ilvl86+ Vaal Regalia

Helmet

Aim for 300+ ES helmet ideally with abyss socket. For base, the best one will be ilvl86+Hubris Circlet with “Spectres have 40% increased damage” enchant. If you want to sacrifice a 300-400ES you could craft Bone Helmet with same enchant (only suggestion for Synthesis league). Use dense+hollowed+sanctified fossils combination for crafting

Gloves

Aim for 160+ES with minion damage or/and with abyssal socket. For lab enchant the best one is “Commander of the Grave”. For crafting use ilvl86+ Sorcerer Gloves and dense+hollowed+sanctified or dense+bound+hollowed+sanctified fossil combination

Boots

Aim for 200+ES with +1 spectre (mandatory/only source of extra spectres on gear). Perfect enchant is “Regenerate 2% of Life and Mana per second if you were Hit Recently”. For crafting use ilvl86+ Sorcerer Boots and bound+dense or bound+dense+shuddering(for extra movement speed, but lowers theoretical maximum ES outcome) fossil combination

Shield

Aim for 350+ES shield with some strength and dexterity (there are crafted mods for strength/quality and dexterity/quality). For some memes, you could pick whatever shield with +1 maximum totem summoned and give it to spectres using Necromantic Aegis passive. For crafting use ilvl86+ Titanium Spirit Shield and dense fossil

Amulet and rings

Aim for 45+ES (and 18+% increased maximum ES on amulet) and whatever amount of resistances you could get on them (pretty high, because that’s not that easy to cap your resistances in this build). Ideally, you want to craft “#% faster start of energy shield recharge” on both rings, so buy rings with open prefix

Belt

Very simple: Bated breath is very hard to beat in this slot (only insane shaper crystal belts or stygians could beat it). Perfect corruption is “Discipline has #% increased Aura Effect”

Weapon

Dagger (choose base with highest attack speed and enough dexterity requirement to equip it). The most important stats are “Minions deal #% increased Damage”, “Auras from your Skills grant 2% increased Damage to you and your Allies” and “0.5% of ES Regenerated per second if you’ve Hit an Enemy Recently” also you could craft “Minions have #% increased attack/cast speed” on bench. For crafting use ilvl83+ *Dagger base name* and dense+bound fossil combination. Other good mods are stats/resistances/attack speed

Jewels

9x (7 without abyss sockets on gear) ghastly eye jewels with flat ES and “#% increased Minion Damage if you’ve used a Minion Skill Recently”. Extra minion life leech or life regen is useful as a third mod. Flat minion damage is not that great, because final damage comes from totems. Utility mods such as blind/taunt on hit may be good too. Watcher’s eye: #% faster start of ES recharge while affected by Discipline. This mod will improve your survivability by a lot, but it’s not that cheap for leaguestart

Flasks

Granite/Ruby/Sapphire/Quicksilver/Basalt with shock/freeze/bleed/burning removal and extra movement speed for Quicksilver. All of those things are important, because CI builds could easily become frozen/shocked/stunned (you have only 1 maximum life)

Skills and links
1)Spectres :

May consider dropping "Minions and Totems Elemental Resistances" on 5 link
2)Movement:

3)Curse setup:

4)Extra minion setup:
(Zombies are extra meat shield on maps/ SRS are used to proc abyss jewels modifier once in 4sec)
5)Auras:

Use one purity before lvl90+. May consider to add lvl1 Clarity
6)Other skills:

Upgrade suggestions
1)Add aspect of the spider on any of your gear with open suffix. You’ll have enough mana to reserve even without “reduced mana reserved” nodes on skill tree
2)May have more abyssal sockets on gear, but hollowed fossils are very expensive
3)Crafted jewelry with #% increased ES from body armor
4)Very rare and expensive +1 spectre Vaal Regalia, which you’ll need to craft to at least 600ES breakpoint
5)Talisman with “#% increased global defenses” implicit

Spectres summoning details
Tukohama’s Vanguards are located in “The Coast/The Mud Flats/The Karui Fortress” in act 6. Coming to those areas use Desecrate until you will find their corpse. Hold “A” key (by default) to look for exact corpse on the ground. Spectres lvl is based on Area lvl in which they are summoned and your “Raise Spectre” and “Desecrate” gem lvls (up to 100 on lvl 20 gems) cap it. So, in every area with higher lvl then previous you need to resummon your spectres. Ideally, once you start mapping – go to any lvl 84 area and summon max lvl spectres (you need lvl 20 “Raise Spectre” and “Desecrate” ofc) (Atm those areas are: “The Shaper’s Realm” , final room in “Oba’s Cursed Trove” and Abyssal Depth in any T16 map). If any of your spectres dies you will need to resummon it in any lvl84 area , but if all of them dies you will need to go back to act 6 and summon at least 1 of them and then go to lvl84 area

Changes for certain bosses
1)Uber Elder: Use Purity of Ice and Aquamarine Flask with crafted “3% life regenerated per second during Flask Effect” (same changes applies to Aul)

2)Uber Atziri: Equip Eternal Life flask with “Grants #% of life recovery is to Minions”, and for sure use Purity of Fire.

FAQ:
-Could this build do every content?
–Almost, HoGM is impossible for spectres builds

-Is this HC viable?
–I’m not familiar with HC economy, but definitely viable, just need to play carefully

-What is the cost of decent gear?
–A lot of gear you’ll craft yourself, but expect 5-7Ex without hollowed fossils and around 25-30EX with them

-Is this build still good in 3.7?
-ES nerfs made most pieces of gear have 50-60 less flat ES on them. That will result in overall 1-1.5K ES drop, but could be improved with more focus on ES in passive skill tree. All in all expect about 9K ES at lvl 90 with decent (5-10ex) investments. Suggesting to consider running Solaris guards as spectres due to better perfomance and less deaths (will update gem links and videos once I'll switch them myself). New Wicked Ward keystone is huge boost for this build.

-How to league start with this build?
–Start as life version with Solaris Guards spectres (different support gems though). Once you’ll obtain decent gear, respec into CI version. Good lvling items are: Bones of Urrl/Earendel's Embrace/Vis Mortis. Start lvling as arc or lightning traps until act 4 The Belly of the Beast, which contains Stygian Ravenants. Switch to Kitava's Heralds in “The Cathedral Rooftop” in act 5 then to Tukohama’s Vanguards in “The Coast” act 6 then (may be) Solaris Guards in “The Solaris Temple” act 8 (in that case you’ll need to swap to Tukohama’s Vanguards later)

Thank you for reply!

Will update build guide tomorrow with patch notes release. Also gonna league start with this, so will improve the guide and add new videos
Just an idea I have, and sorry for my bad English.

If you use Alpha's Howl Sinner Tricorne, it will be possible to use more auras. I know you lose approx. 1k ES, but with approx. 10k is no problem.

I have also gone with the idea that Victario's Influence for using, anger/wrath etc. and use a psy. helmet with minions dps etc. so that way you get a 6L helmet. And the last thing..If you using vaal purity dicipline, in that way you will have the opportunity to recharge ES, immediately ..

About Alpha's Howl and Victario's Influence with+pseudo 6L helmet:
1) Alpha's Howl is quite bad. Even with it it will be hard to use more auras until lvl 95+ (although if new malevolence aura is powerful you may consider to use bound fossil on helmet for 5% reduced mana reserved, but still not Alpha's Howl) and abyssal socket on high budget is a lot of damage

2) Victario will be hard to fit, because of huge ES loss. Also you want defensive auras for yourself and Victario has generosity support for auras inside it (SR totems don't get that much from dps auras even. apart of new DoT aura). 6L helmet is very hard to roll for good ES amount. But if you're going for life version you may consider it. If you really want more auras better go for lowlife with Shavs, but may lose some survivability of your minions.

About vaal auras: ofc they are better, my betrayal gear is on high end,but not fully minmaxed. So, I just didn't have them. But you should if you're gonna run with this build next league.

Overall decent ideas, but you'll need to change this build a lot for that setup

Working on a similiar build. I use Herald of Agony in Helm. Gives me all the clear speed I need while TVs are for single target.

Some ideas:

You want enough cast speed (33%+) so that TVs reach max stacks before 3 seconds because the skill cooldown is 3 seconds and if they resummon before max stacks the 1.5 second burn debuff that last after the totem is gone will be a lot lower.

My links would be:
Spectre -
Minion Damage
Elemental Focus
Burning Damage
Multiple Totem
Increased Duration

Yes you read that right Increased duration. While skill duration does not affect Totem durations it does affect the Burn debuff duration. I also use Temporal Chains to extend the debuff by 40%.

So its:

1.5 base duration

75% increased duration (level 21 20q)

40% slower expiration of effects

3.67 second duration burn debuff at max damage after the Totem expires. Remember each Totem has its own debuff stack. This lets me overlap the Burns so that most of the time I have the effective damage of 4 Totems per Vanguard.

Not sure about herald of agony and how does it without support gems. This build is quite socket starving (even without abyss jewels).

Increased duration is interesting idea, although I'm not sure how well it will do against endgame bosses. It will remove a lot of damage and add more debuff lenght as you said. Requires some testing, very hard to calculate in pob (on average seems strong replacement, but just not sure).

Temporal chains as an aura is a good addition, but need to drop portal gem or zombies (both is fine to drop) will definetely help in delve and in memory fragments
