How to organize your stash - league end compendium

Because league ends very soon, I decided to make small compendium, how to avoid mess in stash and standard stash. Below is some advices for completly new players, so I decided to hide it for "veterans", as theyknow all of that very well :)



This way there are players with 100+ “remove only” tabs filled with utter junk and doomed to play only in temporary leagues, due to an unmanageable brothel in stash tabs. Here is few tips how to avoid it:

Stash tabs for items:
1.Three or four days before end of each league empty at least 1 stash tab to store “league gear” there. If you have 4 stash premium stash tab, use this one. Call it “Betreyal”. If not, use ordinary premium tab. If you don’t have such tabs, just use ordinary one. Put there all items you want to keep, but keep in mind all advices written below.

2.Precisely scope all your rare items in tabs. Sell to vendor everything, except: 6-linked armour and weapons, Shaper or Elder craftable base items with ilvl 83+, helmets with valuable “uber lab” enchantments. You can check enchantments prices in PoE ninja. Items you want to keep move to “Betreyal” tab.

3.Precisely scope all your unique items in tabs. Sell to vendor everything, except: 6-linked armour and weapons and every unique item which PoE ninja price is lower then 50c. Don’t worry, you will find plenty of these in next leagues. Items you want to keep move to "Betreyal” tab.

4.Precisely scope all your magic/rare jewels. Vendor everyone “abyss” jewels without at least +40 life nodes. In future league (s) you will find plenty of such items anyway. All jewels without life nodes are cheap anyway, you can always buy such things for 1 or 2c. Scope your “normal” jewels, vendor everything without life nodes, unless they are really godly. In such case, check prices on PoE trade. Items you want to keep move to “Betreyal” tab.

5.Precisely scope all your unique jewels. Vendor everything except: unnatural instinct, watchers eye jewels and in general jewels with price lower then 25c, unless they are corrupted with “corrupted blood cannot be inflicted on you”. If their cost is below 25c, you can always buy such thing, if need it. Items you want to keep move to “Betreyal” tab.

6.Precisely scope all your gems. Vendor or destroy all below 20/20, unless you really want to keep them and have space for it. Put to “Betreyal” tab everything you want to keep.

7.Precisely scope rest of your items, keep only one worth 30-50c+, unless it is bulk delve fossils or some bulk prophecies, like “Twice enchanted” or some “master seeks help”. Then it is on your own, if you want to keep them or not, but keep in mind your tab is limited.

“Specialized” stash tabs – this is “easy” part, as except map stash tab, which I will mention it at the end of compendium.

1.Currency, essence, fragments tabs:
Moving items from “old” to “new” currency tab is quite easy, you can move currency after end of the league, no problem there. Same thing with essences, and no issue with moving them even after league ends, unless you have really many “normal atziri” fragments, moving which can be annoying. But no choice there anyway.

2.Divination card tab:
This one is little bit tricky. There is plenty various divination cards (most of them are pure garbage) and very often they allow you to hold some item "in cards" instead of in stash tab. For example, instead of holding Voidforge sword (unless it is 6l), you can hold full set of The Endless Darkness Card, save some tabs space and exchange they for sword if needed. In general – sell, vendor or destroy every “garbage” cards and leave only those, which grants currency, 6l items or cost more then 8-10 c each. Moving divination cards is little bit annoying, but needed, as they can became source of mess.

3.Map stash tab.
This one is most annoying, because recently GGG decided to make some atlas changes. As a result, maps from one league are incompatible with maps from another league. Purpose is obvious – they want to force you to but another map tab. This can be avoided in two ways. First – remake your all existing maps in standard stash using 3 for 1 recipe. Extremely annoying, time consuming but possible. Second – empty map tab near the end of each league. Although you will not have too much map in standard, you don’t have to buy another tab. Decision is yours.

Then you can organize your stash tabs even further. If you have many premium tabs, you can move specific kind of items there and make “weapon”, “armors”, “helmets” or any other dedicated tabs and play in standard comfortably, in case, GGG will release another crappy league.

Have they confirmed that there will be a new series of maps? People keep saying this, but the only thing we have got from GGG is that the atlas is "shifting". They've shifted stuff before without needing a full new series.

I don't care. Just in case I already reduced my maps in Betreyal to... like 100? I can get rid of them in like... 5 minutes? I don't believe GGG anymore. If they decide to screw atlas again, I'm ready. Bring it on!:)

Several observations:

1. PoE is more of a Commodity Exchange simulator than a stock exchange.
2. No one is being "forced" to buy anything. However, the truth that with only 4 tabs to a newbie's
    name all new players will super quick realize that it isn't enough and thus will buy more stash
    space and a specialty tab (or more) such as the Currency tab.
3. Since all "challenge expansion" tabs are moved to their respective Standard leagues as
    "remove only" tabs it becomes apparent to anyone wanting to continue playing a build in stan-
    dard after the 3 month expansion ends that a ton of "remove only" tabs is very undesired and
    can quickly cause your standard stash to explode with too many tabs. Thus it is highly advised
    to take an hour or two before the current challenge league ends (Betrayal ends on March 4th at
    4:00 pm EST) and consolidate down to as few of tabs as possible your challenge expansion
    stash so that as few "remove only" tabs are created in your standard stash. This is what the
    Quad-Premium Tab is very nice for so buying a few of them is always a good idea (but always
    wait for the Super Stash weekend sales event). Then vendor off most/all leveling gear and only
    keep the best items/uniques you have acquired that could be usable in standard league play.
4. Since GGG has gone the "free to play" business model route they only get their revenue from
    selling mtx (and supporter packs + a very few other items) so limiting a new account to only
    4 stash tabs is required. Without players buying mtx GGG is history and we really don't want
    that to happen.
5. "play in standard comfortably, in case, GGG will release another crappy league."
    This is pretty much guaranteed to happen sooner of later (maybe next league as Synthesis is
    another damn racing league like Incursion). I dislike playing/racing against an always too short
    timer like in Incursion (oops... times up... damn I didn't get a door unlocked... fuck this shit!).
