rf in helmet or gloves

I read latly a lot about righteous fire builds which use gloves with socketed gems deal 30% more damage over time instead of the elder helmet with burning and conc support.
Can someone explain for me why the gloves should be better than the helmet or in general which combination is better for dmg and why. Last bumped on Feb 27, 2019, 6:06:30 PM

Seems obvious that a 6 link would be better than a 4 link for the skill in the links.

Those gloves are just WAY cheaper than a good helmet that has the right enchant too. So the real upside is the price. There was a time when rf did not even had enough support gems to use in a 6-link but that was quite some times ago. Right now if you can affort one of the really great helmets (50-200ex) you can just grab some of theoe gloves and everything works just fine BUT only fine not godly. For godly you are in dire need of one of those helmets. ^^

" ehm... maybe not that hard to make, but very hard to afford it for 99% of players everytime i read something like "costs 30-200ex" i wonder if those people have a real life job. im playing very frequently over the last 4 months and have 3 ex :( Im bad at math.

i Literally MADE that hat by throwing scorched fossils at it. Ive made 3 of them. A shitty hat like that (2 supports, -9 fire, crafted life), should cost like 50 chaos.

" It sure is... ZERO online. ^^ But you are right there were actually a few really usable ones for a decent price.
