Yeah, I think its the spirit of slayed shaper. When elder kidnapped him, he didnt erase all memories 100%. They are still there, but someone has to go in and retrieve them.

Was probably trying to reconstruct the Cosmic weapon mentioned in the final fragment, that Zana ends up using in the final fight to banish Elder.
But that was in a later stage, I guess.
Earlier he was making things that can help him return home, to Wraeclast, and see his daughter again. Failed, of course. But in the process he could have made so really cool stuff.
I'm curious if this league mechanic will be alongside The Atlas, or replace it?
And I hope we won't need to beat Uber Elder to unlock ghost Shaper :)

It will function essentially like incursion for the most part and be a compliment to the mapping end game rather than delve which diverged greatly.

The elder comes from the same place as the beyond guys (that is the pseudo Lovecraft/Chambers universe).
This Cavas could be another version of shaper or he could be another clown with a similar story. We don't know shaper is the only one with a device. How many are laying around, or were?
No one knows.
