Aura frequently deactivating
About 3 months ago, I reported that very rarely, one or more of my auras would deactivate, without my having hotkeyed it, removed the gem, or removed the item in which the gem has been placed. This had happened to a number of different auras on different occasions, without me having been able to see a particular pattern.
Today, I had one playsession in which one of my auras (this time, it was Clarity, I believe exclusively) deactivated 7 times in rapid succession, within about one hour. I have no idea what is causing it. It's not a game-breaking bug by any means, but it caused me a severe disadvantage in at least two battles, and I believe helped cause my death in one. Just happened 20 minutes later again, this time with Discipline.

Are you sure you don't have it in your weapon/shield? If you do, it will deactivate as soon as you press X to switch weapons, or when you manually change it (usually for grabbing an item in your hands to gain space on the inventory, so you can carry more stuff to sell).
However, you can change weapons (X) in town as much as you want; as long as you have the correct one with the auras on it selected when you go back to the a place where auras work. Last edited by Kaemonarch#7216 on Mar 7, 2013, 6:54:47 PM

Yes, as reported in the past, I do not - what is more, I can NOT switch weapons by mistake even if I wanted to try, since I do not have an alternative set equipped: the game won't let you swap.
All of my auras are on one 4L anyway, so if one were to deactivate due to equipment tampering, all must - but this is never the case. Just a guess: sometimes I believe that for a millisecond, I have zero mana, and maybe sometimes this causes some divide by zero bug or something ...? Now that you mentioned the "for a milisecond" thing, I remember one thing that happened to me, also aura related.
If you are using a 1009 Grace (for example) that requires 124 DEX to use, and you only have 105 + 20 from Amu, and you switch it with a different Amu (even if you place it directly on top of the other one and also gives the same 20 DEX), it will count that for a millisecond you didn't had the necessary stats for the Aura/Gem, and you will lose it. That may be it? Do you change some ring, amulet or other piece that gives you the required stats for the Aura? That would explain why is always the same Aura. |

This could also be caused when you level up a gem? I guess take note of the situation and what has changed next time this happens to you, and we'll see if there is something specific with your character.

Did you right-click the aura icon on the top left corner of the screen? I do that sometimes, and it's VERY annoying :P Usually happens to me when I fight mobs in that corner...

"You know? Being a melee I didn't even think of that possibility; but is true that most range chars shoot enemies from 1 screen away and it could be that. If its neither this nor my last guess, also try to remove the Key Shortcut after summoning your auras; if you don't have any more skills to place in there just add an Autoatack or repeat a skill. Maybe you are just leaving the last aura you activate there and pressing the key at some point by mistake. Last edited by Kaemonarch#7216 on Mar 8, 2013, 12:26:39 AM

This happens to me, but I usually only experience it when I'm in town for a long time between murder sprees, whether it's trading or selling a bunch of stuff (I stockpile % items to sell for scraps and whetstones).
It annoys me when I don't immediately notice it once I go back to death dealing. |

It happened to me MANY times.
I even opened a post before about it. The solution was really easy. I was rightclicking in the up-left corner, and lose aura without noticing until later (I watched my streams and found the problem, always it was the same, right clicking). Sometimes, you just didn't notice, but when you are going from down to up in a map, its very very easy to rightclick there and lose an aura. So I suggested to remove this, imho right-click to remove an aura should not exist, I dont think why someone would use that, and its just providing more problems than help to players I guess.
