Mastermind Failure Resets To 0%, Is This A Joke
After a slow roll through the campaign and progressing into T10 maps, I finally filled the mastermind progress bar to be able to take a shot at the main boogie for this league. I'm not going to elaborate on how much of a visual second cousin cluster this fight was or how many one hit mechanics there are (skeleton crawlies anyone). No, what I want to know why would they decide that a failure be so punishing? Like are we even suppose to learn the fight if we only get six attempts once every two week? I was flabbergasted that it reset to zero; I went into the mastermind safe house thinking at worst it would drop by 25%!
Now, I cannot complete other challenges because I still have syndicate members kicked out of the syndicate from when I started the league and didn't know the repercussions of my choices. I have to grind up the mastermind to 100% again just to get a chance to reset the syndicate members I kicked out! It took me a long long time to be able to open the safe house; mostly because I tended to have to skip a lot of syndicate because apparently the secret relic taken from Juno was a bottle of pure steroids. Now, since I know the risk associated, I have to go grind syndicate members in a low level campaign zone (like blood aqueducts) just to level up my syndicate in a more reliable and manageable way since failure = a steel-tip boot straight to the nuts. I've been playing since Harbinger and I consider Bestiary to be the worst league I've played, but man GGG is really trying to top it with this league. The area is monster level 83, isn't it? I feel like if you're only at T10 you aren't ready for it
But it is stupidly dumb how punishing that is. I feel like sometimes GGG wants to delete standard and only allow hardcore but that obviously won't get them very much money and nobody cares but I liked Bestiary way, way more than this league Last edited by Imaginaerum#5568 on Jan 15, 2019, 12:16:17 AM

From what I've seen, you can farm the master hideout in like 1-2 hours in that area in act 8 where solaris/lunaris are. Just had a good movespeed build.

" My zone level was 70 so I assumed it was somehow based off the highest level syndicate member safe house you completed. I was definitely on the squishy side and I honestly didn't expect to complete it on the first go, but I figured the 25% progress lost (at most) was worth the fight experience. I thought it would drop down by 10% anyway if I didn't attempt it (like how the normal syndicate member safe houses do) |

Lowest level of Mastermind zone & fight is 68, no matter what.
Even if you grind the intelligence in act 9 Blood Aqueduct. Masterpiece of 3.16 lore

" Mix in one single high tier map of Intel, and it's 80+, right? (I would have liked to practice the fight a little more in lower tiers, like white elder to red elder, but the game is insisting I kill lvl82 Catarinas) 3.5 build: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2299519

" Yeah. MM fight gets higher levels based on individual syndicate encounters and not only on safehouse leaders. Better to avoid all high level encounters. Best bet for your practice run would be to farm act 9 BA or act 10 Ossuary. Masterpiece of 3.16 lore "A mysterious figure appears out of nowhere, trying to escape from something you can't see. I run Harbour Bridge. Solid hour and we're good to go.
And the white guys says, I'll have a Coke then.

" Pretty sure that if you just keep kicking members out, the game will cycle through the "benched" roster when introducing new ones to take their place and eventually get to the ones you booted. No need to run mastermind at all. Knowledge is power.
Power corrupts. Stay stupid. |

" Interesting, I grinded out a Mastermind in Blood Aqueduct and the area for it still wound up being 83, must have done one in a map without realizing it |
