Purifier, Elder Guardian - Dies without dropping loot - No kill credit

I have ran Pit of Sorrows several times to kill the Purifier, an Elder Guardian; however, whether done on the level 9 or the shaped version, I have had no luck in receiving credit for the kill. I am using the same character that opened the map. Upon defeat, Elder comes out and "reclaims" the boss, but no loot spawns and the atlas still shows the Purifier's existence.

Suggestions on fixing the issue and being able to move on to the Elder?

As I stated in my post, I opened, cleared, and defeated the boss all on the same character.

In order to remove the Guardian from your Atlas, you must do the map in the same state that it is shown in your Atlas.

If the Guardian is on a Shaped map, then you must also run the map Shaped, otherwise you will fight the Guardian but get no loot and it won't disappear from the Atlas.
